I found this restaurant thanks to TA. And what a discovery! It is a bit hidden in the Old Town, but is worth the visit just to see the place. The owners bought things through the year and decorated the restaurant with lots of taste (have a look at the pictures on the website). The food is in line with the place: just delicious, and sometimes original, made of fresh products. And wine by the glass is offered along with. Add to this the sympathy of the owner and you have the recipe of a great dinner! In summer there is a terrasse in the little dead-end street.Do book, as the place is in general full.

We ducked into a mall to avoid some rain and kill time eating lunch. Walking through the mall, I couldn't believe it, there was a large old fashioned food hall on the far side, so we wandered in to check it out and discovered La Pie Qui Couette. Bascially a man and partner with a professional stove, and a three sided counter built around it. You belly up to the food bar, grab a stool, and watch a magician at work. Everything we ordered was fabulous. Ketchup on toast (sounds awful but was delicious), lovely cooked potatoes bravas, mashed potatoes with black olives, divine lamb chops, delicious chicken yakitori, and for dessert, a very memorable baked apple filled with creme brûlée, and a rice pudding with red fruit. Amazing food, and what a value!Everything is cooked in front of your eyes. No microwave or shortcuts here. And presumably, cooked with fresh ingredients found in the Halles surrounding the counter. I sincerely wish I'd had the forethought to get a seat where I could have a clear view of the chef. Note to self. In future, when visiting any food hall, look for a man with a professional stove. He clearly means business.

On a tuesday night the restaurant was almost full but the waiter manage to gave us a good table for four. Service was great and food was very good. We had gazpacho, tapanade and cod for starters and fish, pork and beef for mains. Only thing missing was non alcoholic beer or wine, sometimes you need one ;)Hello, Thank you very much forgive your impression on our restaurant. We hope, you spend a good moment with us. We take into account your appreciation to improve our services. See You next timeMélanie

We had dinner in this restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The owner welcomed us warmly and was helpful in selecting the wine. The dishes we selected were all excellent ( the brandade first i.e. codfish ) tasty, well-cooked and quite original. The desert was excellent (profiterolles). It is a bit pricey but definitely worth it in my opinion. I can strongly recommend this place.

The team at restaurant SKAB welcomes you to a contemporary and cosy place, with its quiet and naturally shaded patio in the city centre of Nîmes, just a step away from the Arena and just in front of the âMusée de la Romanitéâ. An epicurean moment for your
Our experience was simply perfect. The dishes were imaginative, beautiful and most importantly absolutely delicious. We had the 8 courses with four glasses or wine and started with an aperitif. Cecile was our main server and was friendly, knowledgeable and very service minded. We wanted for naught. You can see fromPhotos 8 courses quickly become 10-11. Excellent wine selections. Adored the pinotnoir served with the guinea fowl. Perfect choice. The beginning two whites paired deliciously with first 3 courses. The final dessert wine had the perfect amount of sweetness for the cheese and pre-dessert and dessert. They managed my gluten allergy with great thoughtful. Including crispy French bread. How??? They altered each course as needed. Thank you for a great evening.

Already recommended on Trip Advisor, they have a great selection of wines, good location in the best square in town, excellent service and chacuterie and cheese platters on offer for those who want more than a drink. Loved the wooden tables and umbrellas outside. Must go location for visitors to Nimes

Grand parking.
