We had to stop here during a vacation travel. The chef has no idea of Italian food is!To be able to pay with credit card we had to accept a surcharge of 2⬠for the credit card fee. Unbelievable and unacceptable.

Paradise Hideaway For People Who Look For No Tourism Nature Place Fresh Food Cooked By Owner And Funny Thai Woman (rose) Right On The Breathtaking Crystalclear Lake Millstatt
We had two delightful lunches at Villa Verdin. The dining room has a wonderful view across the lake in Millstatt and is warm and inviting. The service is a perfect match - friendly and helpful. And the food was delightful. The menu is clearly influenced by Italian cuisine and this provided a refreshing alternative to the often heavier Austrian fare. The wines that were recommended were excellent as is often the case in Austria. We had hoped to stay at Villa Verdin but were unable to do so. If the rooms are as good as the food it would be a wonderful base to enjoy the area.

We came onlz 21:30. Everything else was already closed. The welcome was intriguing and even when we weren't in Pizza we found a fresh fish from the lake nearby and I had a very good entrecôte with pepper sauce, which was home made. It was a brown sauce whereas in Austria it's mostly done using milk or cream. This seemed to be real gravy. The restaurant seems to have more Pizza. During the day it's a tourist spot but in the evening locals and service personnel from the hotels nearby seem to come for a drink or a salad.By the way: the salad seemed very nice but neither I nor my wife could eat it any more.

It must have been one of those bad days. After we were stuck for three hours in a huge traffic jam between Slovenia and Austria, we decided to have a dinner stop at Seeboden. As we were quite tired, we thought of having a quick pizza to give us the energy to continue our long road to our next destination. First Pizzaria along the main road, was this one. Many cars parked outside, all tables busy. It was promising. We were looking forward to our pizza in a pleasant environment. OMG, we were so disappointed. It took them 30mins to take a first order:the drinks, another 30 mins to get these served, another 30mins to take the order for the pizza (it was someone else in charge of taking the orders for food). As a starter we got one lame tomatoe salad with some onions and a basic dressing. Really nothing fancy. The pizzas are ok, but where is the oil? Where is the pepper grindr? Where are the pizza knives? They really don't pay attention to their guests. The waitress supposed to take the orders for food was playing with a kid, and we can tell that many tables were getting impatient. Subsequently, it is always better to go and get oil and pepper yourself: they simply gave us the original green bottle of olive oil from the supermarket! Now, a short note about all those summer flies that landed on the floor and on the tables.....disgusting! Not just one, dozens! In a nutshell, by far too expensive for quality, hygiene and bad service. It's an offence for the real Italian pizzerias!

We are welcoming you back on our winter season! We are open now from Tuesday to Sunday 17:00 - 22:00 and additionally 12:00-14:00 on Sundays.
That restaurant was a great surprise- we were just looking for a local place to eat and ended up having the best pizzas we ever had in Austria. Pizzas are prepared in a woodoven in front of your eyes- they came perfectly crispy and were made of fresh ingredients, which we appreciate a lot. We also had a starter, which tasted well. The menu wasn´t huge but it was fair enough for a small place. Restaurant is located ca 2 kilometers from the local town Gmund. It´s exactly on the way towards tourist attraction Kolnbreinsperre and almost beside the Donkey park, that´s how we found it. The atmosphere looks like traditional local pub with some modern features like a wine-corner. I am not a wine-specialist, but their selection looked nice as well. It´s also possible to sit outdoors in front of the restaurant, but the weather was too hot for that.Enjoyed it a lot and would return anytime.
