Cristina, Franco and the others who work there are so knowledgeable, They would help formulate what we ate since we weren't sure(we wanted to try everything) and Cristina went by how hungry we were. We shared plates, prosciutto of course, headcheese, local mushrooms, lasagna, beef, duck which we watched cook on the huge fire sort of in the center of the restaurant. Everything, I mean everything we ate was phenomenal, and the house wines were superb and local. Prices were reasonable and we knew we hit a good place because everyone else there was a local. We loved the place so much we came back 3 weeks later and took pictures(unable to access them here). I love this place and can't wait to go back again!

Lovely place to come for lunch, we came here to celebrate after a baptism ceremony. The property is very nice, with gardens surrounding, can be very nice on a nice spring or summer day. Lunch was plentiful and very tasty

This time I added the pictures from my lunch instead of describing the delicious Italian food. Just look for yourself. This family run restaurant combines Italian hospitality, care for the customers, a bright, spacious restaurant building with a terrific garden, with the preparation of excellent Italian food, where simplicity, fresh ingredients and craftsmanship render dishes to die for. And prices are still reasonable in view of what you get, albeit that prices have increased a bit since last year. But as prices stayed almost the same the last couple of years, a price increase at some moment in time is unavoidable.

This place in outstanding for tasting the original Prosciutto San Daniele. We have tried it with some locals and I had no words...incredible. Service has been quick, prices good, alternatives to prosciutto were also very good - from a risotto with mushrooms to tagliatelle con ovoli. A little gem that, behind a simple face, offers very good food close to the Duomo. Do not miss it!

The environment is beautiful, the service is awesome. We took prosciutto seasoned 24 months and 36. The last one was pretty good but I'm sure in San Daniele I can find a better one. Burrata was amazing but focaccia was Average. What disappointed the most was the main course. I took pasta with prosciutto crudo and my wife with trout. They were with full of cream and you couldn't enjoy the real flavour. Imho it is unacceptable in Italy in 2016 to put cream inside pasta. It was really hard to finish the plate because its heaviness. I gave 3 stars but the real vote is 3.5.

Trecentesca structure inserted in the majestic setting of the Monte Albano Castle Mediaeval Age settlement in the Friuli region. In the club you can enjoy a fantastic "Pozzo" used to collect water dated 1303. A pictorial view allows you to admire the moun
Amuse bouche based on mushrooms was promising, so were some fantastic grissini, and overall the dinner delivered on the promises. Both our first courses were spectacular. Garganelli with crostacei from Istria were extremely aromatic, the touch of mint was surprising and well- matched. The other primo of spaghetti with raw prawns served cold had even more surprising elements, saffron and liquorice, and they were applied with delicacy and finesse, very unobtrusive, just creating a background flavour atmosphere.Mains were also classy. Both a turbot and a raw tuna were great produce. The caponatina (sweet and sour vegetables) that came with the turbot and the veal cream with the tuna were assertive and apt complements.Maybe the desserts were less great in terms of flavour - a sphere felt more like a display of technique than a powerful dessert (where was the intense apricot taste we were expecting?), and a white chocolate cremeux also lacked punch. Mind you, both were good desserts, but they lacked the wow factor of the rest of the meal.Service was discreet and efficient. The environment, outside on a terrace or in a garden, was pleasant indeed in the warm season, and also the rooms inside looked very nice. Prices are high but justified by the quality. The cover charge includes, besides bread and all the nibbles and nicely appointed tables, a complimentary and good local bubbly (sparkling Ribolla): this a gesture of hospitality that is ever rarer and which I appreciated.

Go here. Two things to do when in San Daniele in Friuli and one is hungry...eat the prosciutto and the tagliolini alla San Daniele. One thing to note is that the restaurants have their own supplier of prosciutto. Tancredi not only has a supplier of San Daniele's best, but they make the ABSOLUTE best tagliolini alla San Daniele (linguini-like pasta with the prosciutto in a cream sauce) . If you like something "fishy" yet delicate, their baccalà Vicentino is nothing but exquisite. Their house red, a Merlot, is smooth, suttle, and to finish off their home made cakes, such as torta alle mele is divine. Bravi, anzi, bravissimi.

The place is nice, food is ok... My idea for this place is simple, Ingredient are great but the dishes do not give what they suppose to. I strongly hope this place gets better and improve soon but for now: I see only the potential to be an amazing place. I will check again!Dear Devvsninja, thank you very much for your comment. Restaurant Carnia is situated on the SS13 just north of the strip mall Carnia Market. The restaurant is part of Hotel Restaurant Carnia. We stopped there several times for coffee and a sandwich at the Bar section. I must say, the Restaurant Carnia has a very relaxed atmosphere and is very inviting. Sitting at the outside tables and watching the traffic pass by on the SS13 stress dissolves like magic. The Bar prices are moderate; food prices in the restaurant are somewhat elevated. However, you will be received with authentic Friulan cuisine. Service of the staff is polite and hospitable. The bathrooms in the basement are roomy and clean. A good stop whether for lunch, dinner or drink with a sandwich at the bar. Next time in the neighborhood we will definitively sit down for lunch.Dear guest, thank you very much for the time you spent to write the review and thank you for the kinds words. We hope you will come to visiting us soon.Best RegardsGiuliana

Dear Monica in front of house and her brother Federico are following in the footsteps of their parents. Bring your best possible appetite for the most spectacular florentine steaks- this side of florence ! Vegetarian- no problem, and great fish on request. To say my wife and I love this place is an understatement in life.
