This is the best restaurant near to the Best Western in San Martino.It does a good range of standard Italian food, and an enormous list of pizza choices. The location of the Trattoria Dai Tomasi is inauspicious, between the A4 Venice-Milan motorway and the main road to Verona in a very ordinary built-up area. However, when you enter the restaurant you are in the domain of Conrad, the owner, who believes in La Dolce Vita and lives it. It is authentic, warm and honest, and locals love the place and keep it busy. Conrad speaks no English, but the waiter does, and is very helpful. The menu isn't large but focuses on local dishes. Beware of the English translation, which is hilarious at times - 'polypo' translates as Polyp salad instead of octopus with fried potato salad.The wine list is reasonably priced and Conrad is very proud of it - lots of local wines and I recommend the Lambruscos, some of which are truly luscious.Trust what they recommend - they know what they are talking about, and are very generous people, if you give them the chance.There are other trattoria not very far away in more attractive surroundings, but the locals eat here because they trust it and the food is the real deal.

A friend of mine invited us there for dinner. Nice and tidy place, good and friendly service, parking just outside the premises.Nothing remarkable about the dishes we ate; sea-food combination was served on a lettuce bed with crushed ice, which after few minutes melted and made the whole dish content almost floating.

I have been going to this restaurant for years, occasionally, always with pleasure, even with different management. Recently there was a change that deserves praise! In fact, in exchange for a minor formality of service and a family approach that respects the customer, he brought a really fantastic meat menu! I invite you to try the tomahawk, delicious! Choice of wines at the height of the location and the dishes served!

Visited this great restaurant three times last week. On each occasion we were greeted as old friends. Service is excellent, we did not speak Italian and the waiter didnât have much English but between us we selected some really good dishes. First night we did three courses, on the second we reduced to two as three were too much. The owner and his staff were very friendly even when we turned up with a party of seven without booking on our last visit. The two children in our group were very welcomed and they loved everything.Dear Raemoriman, thank you for your evaluationwe are very excited about your words. This restaurant was a real surprise. We stayed in town for a business trip to the wine fair Vinitaly and ending up here was coincidence - but exceeded all expectations. Superb wine list. Great food. Nice and friendly service. It seemed this restaurant catered mainly for locals, at least it was not obvious adverted for tourists.I liked the 'family charme'. Thank you very much!

I do not often write reviews but this experience begs for one. I will remember this stay forever, because the peaceful setting among rolling hills reminded me of childhood summers in the Transylvania countryside, because the hosts were warm and friendly, because the cooking was refined and delicious, because the surroundings were breathtakingly beautiful. If you are considering a stay around Verona, this is the place to stay: immaculate rooms with modern bathrooms, a sweeping terrace overlooking vineyards and villages, accommodating hosts that indulged us when we wanted to watch the Champions League final in the middle of dinner at their elegant restaurant. And the food is amazing: delicious handmade pasta and the best rabbit dish I have ever had, deboned and rolled and thinly sliced, served -deceptively simple - with sautéed spinach and olives, but packing a punch of flavor. To our hosts, I say thank you and if we ever have the opportunity to return to Verona, we will be back for more of your heaven.

Very good offer of food and wines and excellent service. The restaurant is located in a commercial zone and caters to the people working there. In the evening, it is visited by locals who enjoy the very good food and the tasty wines.So, this is a place to have a very good meal at reasonable prices but not for a candle light dinner.We had antipasti, cold cuts, pasta and also meat dishes which were all of excellent quality. Every year we travelling around in Valpolicella to buy wine, and last week we visited Sapore! We visited for lunch. The restaurant is situated on a quieter street alongside the river, away from the crowds of the centre of town, but still close. Food was very good quality and both food and wine reasonably priced. Very much recommended.
