Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Karpathos. Karpathos (Greek: Κάρπαθος, Greek pronunciation: [ˈkarpaθos]) is the second largest of the Greek Dodecanese islands, in the southeastern Aegean Sea. Together with the neighboring smaller Saria Island it forms the municipality of Karpathos, which is part of the Karpathos regional unit. Because of its remote location, Karpathos has preserved many peculiarities of dress, customs and dialect, the last resembling those of Crete and Cyprus. The island has also been called Carpathus in Latin, Scarpanto in Italian and Kerpe in Turkish.

From the first visit we loved Meltemi! Beautiful setting by the water. Traditional, fresh and very tasty food. The best sea food we have had so far in Greece and we have visited several greek islands. Our favourites were taramasalata and grilled octopus. Mixed seafood grill was amazing!!! Mousaka, calamari, traditional lamb dish, goat all cooked to perfection. Very good house wine. Very reasonable prices. Nikos, the owner, is a great person and pleasure to have a chat with. We visited the tavern multiple times during our weeks stay in Lefkos and each time was a memorable experience. This is one of our favourite places on Karpathos. Thank you Nikos!

This restaurant has a very extensive menu with all Greek classics and more. I choose a Greek moussaka (which was an old family recipe) and it was very delicious! It was made of eggplant, potatoes, beef ragout and bechamel and it was in perfect balance. My mom ordered the chicken pesto, which was also very good! The taste of the pesto was very nice! Also, this dish wasn't too big so also suited for a small eater. The desserts were quite expensive, however, I went with a passionfruit and mango cheesecake and was not disappointed. One downside was that the staff was very busy as they had many tables, so sometimes things were forgotten or it was hard to get the attention of one of the waiters. Nonetheless, I would definitely eat here again.

After getting advise from the waiter, I ordered a sea bream; my mom ordered the chicken pesto. The fish was cooked to perfection. It came with some potatoes and vegetables. This was really nice, as not all restaurant serve fresh vegetables. It was very delicious. Also the chicken pesto was very good, however, the portion was too large. For dessert, I had the baklava which was served warm with some whipped cream. Really enjoyed that. Service was very nice and friendly too. However, when the restaurant is full, it might take some time for service/your food to arrive.

We went on a slightly off day in terms of veggie/vegan food but what we had was plentiful and delicious! The staff were very friendly and it was a lovely tranquil setting. However, the best was saved for last: truly the best loukoumades (type of donut dessert) that I have ever tasted!

Family run and mother cooks. Can't get any better than this on the Greek islands. Boiled horta (local spinach-like leaves) and staffed vegetables are my wife's favorites and those dishes were excellent. Fish was good, not great but atmosphere and service made up for the minor glitch. We'll be back there tomorrow..

Ilias and Manolis are professional livestock farmers and vegetable farmers with 20 years of restaurant experience. Kedros Greek Cuisine is their new tavern, located just over Agios Georgios beach, very close to Finiki and Arkasa. It is situated in an idea
Weâve been here for dinner 4 times, they do traditional greek dishes, those complaining for missing fish or looking for carbonara can easily go to other turistic tavernas in Finiki, if you look genuine deliciuos greek dishes this is the place. Portions are huge, staff so kind to advise if you order too much, and youâll be tempted to! They grow all vegetables in the field in front of the terrace, everything cooked daily so something may be finished at dinner (good sign for me). View at sunset is also fantastic. Will miss Karpathos for this taverna.
