I have been visiting this restaurant for more than 8 years. My family constantly go back as we know what we will get - great fresh food, simply prepared, well cooked, smiling waitress service who cope with my pathetic attempts at speaking Spanish.

My husband and I have an apartment in Isla Canela and when we are there we always lunch here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent, particularly the fresh fish and shellfish. They are simply served and not messed about with sauces and such. You feel you are eating very healthily. There is an extensive menu for anyone who does not want fish and they cater for children, too.I would recommend anyone to go here, or, if it is closed off season, the sister restaurant, La Cabra 11 is just as good.Thank you very much for visiting our Chiringuito. We are pleased to know that you have tried most of our products. We are waiting for you on your next visit.

First visit to Meraki and we will definitely return. Great choice of tapas, that has a modern and exciting twist to it. Service was very friendly and of high standard, very attentive...English spoken also. The food was just fantastic...octopus, calamari and a variety of other choices. Very reasonably priced.

Excellent surprise. A wonderfull "arroz a marinera": perfectly done, very tasty. The deserts are also homemade: delicious. A restaurant in the same family for 40 years, they really know how to welcome and let people fell good. To repeat for sure and take some friends!

We stopped here for lunch when looking for somewhere to eat in Isla Canela. There is a car park right outside, its next to the docks in the fishing/industrial area. From the outside it's a tiny bit unappealing but dont ket that put you off. The waitress was really lovely & spoke good English, she chatted with my 13 year old son who is learning Spanish at school. My son and husband both had swordfish which they said was very good. She recommended the catch of the day which she said was a white fish. Me and my daughter are it , it was lovely and excellently cooked. The waitress helped us to get the fish off the bones etc as we were useless! Its was really good & fresh. She recommended dessert a local dish a bit like a custard/creme brulee with just eggs and sugar which was sublime & also a local drink which was similar to ammeretto but with fresh lemon - again lovely. This is definitely worth a visit and we may pop back as I want to try the prawns !

For us to enjoy a great dining experience we expect many things: a friendly welcome; authenticity; fresh local ingredients, cooked well; a chef passionate about his food; good wine; an ambience that encourages diners to relax and enjoy their meal; service that is professional and with empathy for the needs of customers. We were delighted to find all these things in four visits to Restaurante Ernesto over a period of three weeks. After just two months in Vila Real de Santo Antonio, Chef Ernesto and partner Anna have made an excellent start, following their move to the town from Rome. Their arrival is a welcome addition to the local restaurant scene and we look forward to dining with them again. Thank very much for all We'll be waiting for you soon

We were recommended by friends to try La Rana, it was super, we went on our bikes as were staying nearby, had a refreshing drink over-looking the traditional port. We went inside the pretty restaurant to eat, most delicious, fresh as fresh can be seafood and fish, washed down by an excellent crisp chilled white wine. The chef Ana came out and expertly filleted the fish at the table for us, so nice to meet the chef.
