We had dinner at La Lampara. The restaurant is at the beach and the view is beautiful. We had seafood, fish and also vegetarian dishes. Everything was fresh and very tasty. The local white wine was very nice. The people that work there are kind and friendly. The service was very good. Warmly recommended!

Welcoming, relaxing and delicious. The atmosphere and setting is something that i will never forgot. We sat under lemon trees and ate home cooked typical italian food. We will go out of our way to eat here again. Just beautiful. The chef came and spoke to us and we really got the impression that he cared a lot about the food that he was feeding us. Would highly recommend this amazing restaurant! Cant praise it enough! five stars for everything

I've enjoyed the wonderful location of the Cantina il Trappeto along with my wife and kids. Warm welcome and comfortable accommodation for 4 small babies.Concerning food, very good quality...but poor quantity: more generous portions would turn out in a better quality/price ratio.Service all but fast...

Here we are to offer the Varano lagoon experience in fishing, cooking and eating. From September to November we are open only on weekends. Call us for better organizing your staying, since we have very few tables. Best regards, Oasi Gargamelle staff
The Oasi is an oyster/mussel farm, and the oysters and mussels were just perfect, and really incredible value. In peak season they also buy in other shellfish like fazolari.I spent six weeks travelling in Puglia and I ate a lot of seafood, but this was definitely the best meal I had.The couple who run the Oasi were super-friendly and welcoming. I had expected something like a restaurant, but this is a working farm with a covered area for eating. It's best to book in advance, but it wasn't a problem when I stopped by, they were happy to leave the oysters to look after themselves. The ittiturismo is on the shore of the Lago di Varano. There are signs, but they are pretty discrete.

For a small restaurant it had a good range of meals and snacks. The drinks and food were very reasonably priced and its location on the town square is excellent.

This was probaby the best quality food I had in Italy so far on this trip. Everything was very fresh with lovely flavours and the waiters were very knowledgeable. We enjoyed two pasta dishes: calamarata pistacchio gamberi and Rocco like allo scoglio. If you can imagine a cannolini tube cut into rings to resemble calamari then you have the calamarata pasta shape. They were served in a delicious white sauce made of cream oilpistacchio and sweet small prawns- exceptional. The scoglio is a mixed seafood dish. All the local seafood is fished locally: mussels, clams, prawns and scampi. It was down with a wine I had never come across before which was a local semi sparkling white Sangiovese. The dessert of Creme Catalan was beautiful. Containing flavours of lemon, cinnamon, and vanilla and was a wonderfully light way to finish the meal. This is a typical Italian family run restaurant perhaps a little pricier than some others but that is reflected in a superior quality meal.

Nice reasonably priced restaurant that uses local produce. Nice seafood and a very good range of pizzas although the bases, while being very good, were not quite the best. We particularly liked the Lago di Varano pizza that featured samphire and prawns from the local lake. They were scintilatingly fresh. The salsiccia and caciocaval was also good. This used a local semi mature cheese.

We had been travelling around Italy for more than 6 weeks and experienced some fantastic meals. We went to L'Operetta because it had excellent reviews. We were sadly disappointed. The waiter was dismissive of our attempts to make conversation - apparently because our Italian was not good enough. We were served whatever the staff decided we should have despite our orders. The food was unexceptional. Perhaps they are trading too much on their tripadvisor rating or perhaps we just struck a bad night. We stayed at the Albergo Villa Vittoria and the dining experience there was much better.

Local frequented at all hours to eat good foods mainly from Puglia: Wines, cutting boards, big salad, cold dishes, sandwiches and meals for children. Proposals also "Paposce", typical specialties of the area made with mass of Pizza and craft beers.
Highly recommendable if you visit Lido del Sole. Just sitting here and enjoing Birra Mesina a good alternative to Corona. Try cena Pugliese and relax.

An unforgettable lunch experience. Chef Leonardo beams hospitality and is an excellent cook who doesn't mind improvising. Never had such delicious antipasti di mare & di terra! Makes one consider spending a whole week in Vico del Gargano just to try everything on the menu.Thank you Leonardo, we hope to visit you again one day.
