We celebrated my husband's birthday with a brunch for 16 people. Between all of us, we ordered everything on the menu and the reviews were unanimous -- food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully plated, portions were large, and the service was consistent and well timed -- but relaxed and friendly.I arranged the brunch with the owner whose recommendations were very helpful. Our waiter Sam worked hard and got every request right. Prices were reasonable. I would come back for brunch or dinner in a heartbeat!

My wife and I were big fans of Mediterranean Snack Bar which recently closed and we wanted to give Skorpio's a try. Place is small but we were seated for a late lunch in less than ten minutes. Waitress was very nice but busy- they give you a plate of pita slices with yogurt sauce to start- which is tasty but very garlicky. The open gyro was very good but the yogurt sauce is more consistent with sour cream than the more liquid type we were used to at Mediterranean. Greek salad was very good and tasty. Falafel sandwich on pita was large and tasty- have to ask for tahini on the side. All in all we had a nice rather inexpensive lunch and took a portion home for tomorrow! This place is also good for take-out!

We have been here a few dozen times and the food is amazing. It is flavorful and delicious and always very fresh. We cater from here at least once a year for a Birthday or party at our house. The service is pretty good but I know they changed owners last year and some things have changed but the food is still amazing.

Intimate restaurant serving up a taste of Cuba in Huntington! Brunch, Lunch & Dinner available. Housemade, fresh & farm to table menu. Most menu gluten free. Currently BYOB.
I called ahead and asked if we needed a reservation at 5pm on Saturday. They said they had plenty of room. Of course we got there at 5:30 and every table was full (there are maybe six tables). No reservation? No problem! Our hostess took away some bar chairs, opened up a folding table, brought in some folding chairs, threw on a table cloth, put down the silverware and we were good to go. This is how you treat people who unexpectedly show up at your home for dinner. We were treated like family despite the fact that this little place was catering dinner for a homeless shelter and volunteers were hauling tray after tray of food out of the place. The couple we were with didn't eat meat or shellfish. Chef Alan said "let me see what I can do" and whipped up a vegan dish for them from scratch. The enthusiastic family vibe elevated everyone's spirits and soon we were chatting with the other diners. My Cuban sandwich was fantastic. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meal.Truly one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in Huntington in a very long time.

''This restaurant has ok Greek food. I think it used to be better. The gyros are still good, but somehow the salads and hummus used to be better, fresher maybe. I believe that most people have found a better choice down the road a bit.

I came here for lunch on halloween (which is also my birthday) and was really expecting more. I was actually picking between this spot and Taverna Kycklades in Bayside and decided to go here because it seemed like a similar menu (both are Greek) and this is closer. When we got there, I was a bit shocked. The pictures on their website look and feel much different than what it looked like for us. Realistically speaking, this spot is much more 'casual' dining and maybe that's something I overlooked which is fine. When we got the menus, the food sounded good, and there was also a decent people eating. We started with the Garlic Shrimp because my sister loves Garlicky Lemony Shrimp which is exactly what this dish was. It was still a bit on the bland side but the lemony buttery sauce helped. There were also slices of garlic which was great. (Oh and we also got free pita and tzatziki right after we ordered which was nice)I ordered Octopus as my entree because I've had it at several Greek places and I love the way Greek restaurants make it. With all the great reviews here, I was expecting it to be amazing. My sister ordered the greek sausage lunch special and we were both pretty disappointed. My mediterranean octopus was really bland - but it did have the nice charred taste. Salt and Pepper and Lemon couldn't help it, but the Garlic Shrimp Sauce made a HUGE difference. My sister just didn't love her meal to begin with so it was a bit of a flop. Not sure if we came in with really high expectations given that it had lots of great ratings and reviews, or because we were comparing it to other spots? They do offer lunch specials (like the one my sister got) and even one with Octopus for about $13 which is pretty awesome and I'd suggest doing that. Also, when we gave the server our cc for the check, she forgot she had it? She had a friend who was at the bar - so she was distracted - but don't let stuff like that change how you serve your customers. We had no complaints before that, but the friend came in right when we asked for our check.

The food at our restaurant is as authentic as home cooking can get, as if prepared from the fingers of my mother and grandmother which is not only a privilege but the highest degree of gratification. We approach every dish prepared as if we are catering t
Great place! We enjoyed a huge portion of unusual but subtly spiced chicken (shish leek murgh) which was delicious! We asked the waiter if he could identify the spices for us, but he told us that the recipe was a secret. Our friend enjoyed her generous spinach and lamb dish (sabsi chalaw) The restaurant is very traditionally decorated with Afghan rugs. Service was fine. This restaurant is a winner!Thank you kindly for your words. We work hard at making sure we leave each and every one of our patrons with great smiles and a happy stomach. Please come back and visit us soon.
