Hubs and I tried for lunch - we started with the hummus and pitas, and Bateeni bread. Really, really good. The hummus was splashed with olive oil, and mixed with a little green, then dusted with what I think was smoked paprika. Really flavorful. Good portions. The bateeni bread is brushed with olive oil, and lots of thyme and cheese, then baked. Soo good. For lunch I ordered the regular Gyro made with lamb and beef. I almost fainted when it was served; it was hands down the biggest Gyro I have eaten in my life, and I like Gyros. It was also the most delicious I have ever eaten. Lettuce, red onion and tzaki sauce on a huge warm pita. Hubs ordered the gyro plate which was the beef/lamb strips on a flavorful yellow rice, and chose stuffed grape leaves for his side. They were tangy on the outside and ricey delicious inside. We took some of everything home and had a huge dinner to boot. If you want leftovers, order appetizers. If you want leftovers, skip the appetizers; thatâs how much food we got. And $30 for all. A great deal for two full meals of authentic deliciousness. The waitress was sweet as pie, too. Nice people. Absolutely will be back.

It was very busy when I stopped for lunch but staff kept everyone moving through fairly quickly. I expected a long wait for my food but was pleasantly surprised that it only took about 5 minutes after ordering. Portions good, tasted great and worth the money. Nice change from fast food.

I've been eating at Marathon for over 20 years. The food is consistently good, prices are reasonable, and service is average. It's the only true Greek option in Greenville, which keeps me coming back. Sometimes the counter service seems a little hostile, but table/wait staff service always seems friendly.
