This was indeed a âMamma miaâ experience. Entering the place, unless youâve read the reviews, you would not be prepared for the incredible views of Gravinaâs dwellings carved in rocks. The food and service was equal to this magnificent view. We started with the âantipasto tipicoâ â a succession of small plates, one better than the next. These are must-haves. They varied from top-quality cold cuts to scrambled eggs with wild vegetables, to a quiche-like vegetable pie, to an amazing soft white-cheese bite on a red pepper and topped with white truffle. But as good as the starters where, they were matched by the fantastic orecchiette pasta with fresh tomato sauce and basil. Simple but majestic in flavour and texture. When I naively asked for some Parmesan cheese to top it, I was politely advised to âput very littleâ. The food was accompanied by an excellent red wine blend (60% Aglianico and 40% Montepulciano) from a nearby village bottled by Botromagno. We were the only foreigners, and I suspect that this place is visited almost exclusively by Italians, who love and appreciate top food.

What a find! This restaurant specialises in sea food and local Gravina dishes. We four visited on a Sunday not sure what to expect. There was a set lunch with wine for â¬20 but we choose the anti pasta and either mixed fish or lamb for the main course, and the price was not very much more. I have rarely in my many years eating in the south of Italy had such a wonderful selection of anti-pasta - many I had never seen before. How we managed to eat our main course is a mystery! But both the fish and the meat looked and tasted so well, we cleaned our plates. The house wine was excellent and the price was a steal. The location is a side street and you may need to seek help to find but it is well worth the search.

There were 5 of us looking for an evening meal when we were directed to this restaurant by a local green grocer. The premises, which is opposite the Piazza Sacchi does not open until 20.30 each evening. The proprietors Anna and Chef Candeliere were most helpful in spite of language difficulties.The sea food anti-pasta was so vast we could not manage any more food. We returned a couple of nights later when their daughter was present who assisted us with translation. All lovely people good fun and an excellent menu and top rate food. We would highly recommend this restaurant when visiting this lovely old town in this part of Puglia..

This was our last lunch as part of tour of Puglia with Katia our guide. The chef told us that he would bring us vegetarian dishes and we should just eat & enjoy them. Well we did, he kept on bringing a variety of freshly made flavoursome antipasti all from local produce. What an unforgettable experience. The Orecchiette with turnip tops and chickpea & chicory soup were also outstanding. We topped it all with a delicious tiramisu. Highly recommend

The Olivieri Brothers have created a restaurant of such outstanding quality as ot defy description. If you are ANYWHERE near Gravina in Puglia, this reaturant is worthy of a pilgrimage. The impeccable service and ambiance wa surpassed by the food-exhibiting a creativity worthy of any top chef in any great city. A miracle!

We found the restaurant via trip advisor but hesitated a little bit to enter (no menu, no terras, ...). However we decided to go for it. A very enthusiastic, young lady welcomed us. She only spoke a little bit of english and we didn't spoke italien. It was difficult to explain the menu, so we decided to trust the lady and eat the local specialties she promotes. She served a very large variety of antipasti, all home made (delicious, almost a complete meal). Then we enjoyed a dish of fresh prepared pasta with truffle. The seconde piatti was tagliate di manzo and we ended with a sweet dessert and a local digistive. The complete menu including the wine was delicious and this for only 50⬠for 2 pers, ie only 25â¬/ pers. A real recommandation if you look for a dinner in Gravinia.

Weâve choose to visit because of the Trip Advisor reviews, but the restaurant didnât impress us. The service was attentive but the food was not at all at the level we expected. The Fish Menu was medium level, nothing to remember. Maybe just the unlucky day..Buongiorno, ci dispiace aver deluso le sue aspettative.
