We ate here one night while in Fes. Be sure to ask for the Main Dining Room with the spectacular views. The appetizer Moroccan salads were do delicious. The Entrees were also excellent. The service was very attentive. It was my husband's birthday trip and the waiters came out with a cake and had the musicians from the lounge next to the restaurant sing to him" Happy Birthday" in 3 languages. It was so special and amazing! The restaurant was fully booked so be sure to make reservations in advance.Thank you for a great dining experience!Dear Sally6, thank you very much for your lovely comment!! In the name of all of my team, Albrecht

Chez Hakim is a family owned restaurant in a great location near the entrance to the old medina of Fes. The food is truly fabulous at a very reasonable price!! I frequent this restaurant often and love their tajines and fresh fruit juice! The staff are very friendly and welcoming! I highly recommend Chez Hakim!

Restaurant Dar Tajine is a Restaurant located in the heart of the old medina in Fes City, which offers a unique cuisine in a historical house with high quality food and service. Our dishes are prepared with the love and history of our big family. We put a
We read about this in Trip Advisor, podition 12 with hundred of positive reviews. It took us more than 40 minutes to find the place since there is not even one sign in the street to lead you to the restaurant. The restaurant is located in a roof bathed with the smelly air coming from the nearby tanneries. So, prepare for that. There is nothing special about the roof, it actually looks bad for a restaurant so high in trip advisor rankings, it is so bad that you wonder if this is an improvised pop up trying to scam people. For the same amount of money you can have lunch in a beautiful riad. Now, the food. We were scared by how bad the place looked but we were hoping the food maybe would be amazing. We live in Rabat so we know about Moroccan food, a lot. We ordered "vegetarien pastilla" and "tajine poulet citron". Two dishes we have tried more than 20 times each. The pastilla was a bad joke. This dish is usually filled with chicken. We ordered the veggie version since it sounded interesting. This veggie version had no veggies at all, the pastilla was filled with fried scrambled eggs that had no flavor at all. No seasoning, no nothing, just eggs.Really? A pastilla filled with scrambled egg is not a vegetarien pastilla. Now for the "Tajine Poulet Citron" or the Chicken Lemon Tajine. This is our favorite Moroccan dish, we have eaten this dish more than 20 times in a lot of restaurants in all Morocco. The Tajine Poulet Citron of this restaurant is by far, really by far, the worst we have tried ever in Morocco. There was no flavor at all in the chicken. Even worst, the sauce of the tajine had also no flavor at all. And this is really something, this dish's sauce has turmeric and ginger among other things so it is very hard to get a sauce without flavor. We are still wondering how they managed to make it so bad. Take my word, avoid this place, this was the worst meal of our first 8 months in Morocco. If you are sure you ate here, prove to me a picture or anything to make sure you ate us. It is not reasonable. I am a person who ate with hundreds of comments. He did not say to us like what you say. You have only one comment. This is proof that you are a liar.

An intimate dining experience in a beautiful setting, dinner at Dar Roumana's restaurant is a must-do for any visitor to Fes. Our talented French chef serves Mediterranean food with a Moroccan twist, and can be described as French/Moroccan 'fusion'. Chang
My husband and I were excited to kick off our anniversary celebration with a romantic meal at Dar Roumana. The atmosphere is beautiful and we sat poolside. It was annoying because the designated smokers table was located right behind us. That was the first strike.Secondly, I ordered a glass of wine. I never received it. Strike two.My husband, a home gourmet cook, ordered the kefta, which according to the menu was supposed to be lamb. He said it tasted like ground beef and had absolutely NO FLAVOR. If we'd been in a less fancy restaurant, he would have definitely asked for catsup. He asked for lemon instead but it barely helped. I had the fresh peach with poor quality prosciutto ham and minuscule pieces of ricotta cheese as my appetizer. My main course was decent, the sea bass fillet, but it was nothing special. The dessert was an absolute joke. We got the bitter dark chocolate tart that was so uninspired. It was like the chef melted some chocolate and put it in a terrible pie crust and called it a dessert. It was bitter (as advertised) but had no other flavor, not even that of chocolate. We gave it to Omar, our porter, as the only way we'd even eat it as a leftover would be dipped in coffee. The meal was the third strike. This was the most expensive restaurant we went to in our three weeks in Morocco. It was also one of our worst meals. You would be much better off going to a local hole in the wall, unless ambience is your main goal. The waiter was pretty nice but not overly attentive. I give Dar Roumana a hard pass.Dear Dragonfly 727, Thank you for taking time and sharing your review on TripAdvisor. We had the pleasure to welcome you at Dar Roumana for dinner with your husband who have acted the entire dinner time as weird as impossible to the point he attracted the attention of most the people who were dining that night. Starting with asking the waiter if there a female waitress to serve you instead of having a man, then asking very strange questions for the waiter about other client's dining. To answer your strikes:1- The restaurant is a non-smoking and the only designated to smoke is the rooftop terrace.2- We don't serve wine by glass either half or full bottle.3- We receive every day comments and feedback from travellers all over the world who simply love the food and restaurant.4- The waiter could have been amazing if a lady who serves you as requested by your husband. The entire charge for your meal was about 70 Dollars which is a fair price to have dinner in Fez.Kind Regards The Management

Moroccan Cuisine
I previously wrote a review of the restaurant on their hotel page, so I am reposting it here on the restaurant page. After reading reviews and seeing this spot on some travel blogs, we booked a rooftop dinner expecting the best. Sadly, the experience was very mediocre and the views not that great. Coming from Riad Le Calife which has a much better view and menu, we were disappointed to waste one of our nights in Fes on this restaurant. We found the food to be a little bland - we ordered to couscous with Moroccan salads. I would not recommend this place overall.

A modern place where you can find meals for both vegetarians and vegans. Inside you can sit on a sort bar, outside there are tables. The staff is very friendly and the food delicious! While travelling through Morocco I have had some trouble with the food here, but here I could finally get what I could eat! I came back the next day and everything was perfect again! They close for a short time in the late afternoom, but worth the wait! The staff is so friendly! My second visit was on my birthday. When I told them they gave me some free cake with an improvised candle! Amazing!
