What I liked about this place is the staff are friendly and welcoming. A very warm and inviting restaurant that is reasonably priced. The food is just okay. They serve normal South Tyrolean dishes that proportioned very well. If you are hungry and cant find anything better this place is absolutely fine.

We were staying near San Lorenzo and had been told that Pizzeria Petra made gluten free pizzas on request (i.e. advance booking not required). We stopped there for takeaway pizza one night on our way back from Bolzano. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the range of gluten free pizza was excellent. We ordered one pizza with mushrooms and one with spicy salame. Both were excellent - truely the best gluten free pizza I have ever eaten and well worth the trip from nearby towns e.g. San Lorenzo or Brunico! I agree with another reviewer that we could have had one pizza between two, but were happy to have the extra, which allowed us to be a bit greedy on the night and have left overs for another night. It was also very good value for money at less than 8 Euros per pizza. While we took our pizza home with us, the restaurant looked inviting and we would have been happy to eat there if we hadn't been tired from a day out.

Our second night in Brunico we looked for this restaurant, a little outside the ancient historic center. It was quite busy, but it also features wide spaces, so we were seated easily. At the entrance the visitor understands the reason for the name: the restaurant is annexed to a brewery, which can also be partly seen through a hole in the floor. Some prizes obtained in the past from the brewery are also exhibited inside. We ordered two soups and two main dishes. The two soups were delicious, made with the so-called "gray cheese" (translation from the German of "Graukäse" which designates an traditiona cheese, typical of the nearby Valle Aurina / Ahrntal) and canederli with herbs.Less unusual, but equally delicious, were the main dishes: grilled veal with green beans and potato fritters (similar to the Swiss "rösti"); deer "saddle" with sauerkraut, and again with potato fritters. As drinks, a liter of mineral water, a glass of Lagrein wine and an excellent house beer. The price was 77.30 euros for two people: not excessive in relation to the quality of food, but not even low.

According to Michelin Red Star and the local hoteliers, it is unlikely you will find a good restarant in the otherwise lovable town of Brunico. So our hotel manager, when challenged, neither advised nor recommended any spot, just informed us of this one due to its specific location (top floor of an ultramodern complex by the Town Hall), hundred yards from the lively Via Centrale.A sad failure. Ultramodern again, a wine cellar behind glass walls, both offering a remote promise of a serious nouvelle cuisine culinary experience. Very well kept modern restrooms. Bonus stops right here. The place was nearly empty, waiters appeared bored. No warmth or hospitality in the approach of the two ladies which served our table in turns. We came at 13.45, kitchen works till 14.15, and still the impression was that the service team was hugely disappointed upon getting two more guests. Luckily we speak both German and Italian sufficiently to discuss the menu, order our stuff and pay. Neither English nor French were of any good. Now, Brunico is a very strong tourist centre...Wine list acceptable, far from extensive. Markups exactly as in our (five star) hotel... Rip off for Italy, acceptable for neighboring countries. Food served matched the overall company caffeteria feeling we got during the ordering process. Even home-made pasta was mediocre, beef tagliatta sliced too thickly and served medium rather than medium rare as ordered. Classic Italian food (in part Tyrolean) made in a very mediocre way, neither appearance nor taste were convincing. 8- on a 1 to 20 scale. A sad disappointment it was, even though the look through glass walls at the nearby snow covered Dolomiti is so pleasing. All in all, bad price per value. Can not recommend. Perhaps good for local white collars for a concentrated business lunch.

This restaurant was so good that we visited on two occasions during one week. We chose to sit outside under cover because the weather was so good. There is an outside grill area well served by staff. On one night I tasted Spare rib the other a comprehensive mixed grill. The wine menu was good, choosing an Alsace on both nights. The staff were cheerful, could speak English and were very professional. I can well recommend this place for a meal. It is located not too far from the centre of Brunico.

We called into this little eatery today and really enjoyed it. The host was exceptionally charming and made sure that we were very welcome, despite arriving just short of closing time. The food was really tasty and the service was second to none. The restaurant is cosy, clean and nicely decorated. Highly recommended and thank you!
