Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Eupen. Eupen (German (pronounced [ˈʔɔʏpn̩]) and French (pronounced [øpɛn]), previously known as Néau in French, and Dutch (pronounced [ˈøːpə(n)])) is a city and municipality in the Belgian province of Liège, 15 kilometres (9 miles) from the German border (Aachen), from the Dutch border (Maastricht) and from the "High Fens" nature reserve (Ardennes). The town is also the capital of the Euroregion Meuse-Rhine.

My family and I decided to revisit this place after we had been there once before and we thought we had come to appreciate its fast service, great food and friendy staff. This time, we had but a few hours to spent in the city so we ordered but 4 salads and nothing else. After 40min of waiting it became painfully obvious to us that we might be spending the afternoon as sitting ducks waiting for food rather than visiting the city. We finally got the attention of our waiter who told us that there had been a mixup of who was responsible for making the salads but that they would be there in 2-3min. After 10min we finally recieved the salads and the waiter boldly declared that we would come to appreciate the waiting-time since the salad had been prepared with an 'extra amount of love'. Unfortunately, I felt the opposite was the case: The hastily thrown together salad was served with too much dressing drowing out the taste of the ingredients and the dry bread was as tough to bite as a dog-biscuit. I had had the same salad here once before - why the lack of repeatability in quality? Anyway, one should never feel happy to finally be able to leave a restaurant and I regret not simply getting up in the middle of waiting, paying for the water and leaving. I'm sorry, but when you can't get the service part right, that's a big red flag. And if you do, just apologize.Dear Leo,we are very sorry that you had a negative experience at our restaurant. This is usually not the case. We do not want to search for excuses, but just apologize for the inconvenience and promise that the next time, we will do it better.Thank you and best regards!

This is a really great Italian place in the centre of Aachen. The menu is relatively small, but the resultant food is excellent. Service is friendly and the ambiance is good too. There are only a few tables, so booking is essential.
I was just passing by Kelmis for a long weekend escape and have been in this cozy restaurant by chance. During my 3 days stay, I spent unforgettable time and I would love to share my insights briefly:- Very delicious, sophisticated and well presented dishes, entrées, fruits plates & home made desserts..!- Breathtaking and cosy atmosphere with flowers and candles.- So many smiling faces and good vibes around. The staff is so humble and very friendly :) - The music and the ambience are amazingly accompanies to your meal with a glass of wine as they have superb wine selection.- It also has a little nice garden and fish tank! If you wish to spend the time outside especially in a sunny day you must see their back garden. The staff will open you the door so you can enjoy your freshment or you can just have fresh air or a ciggy by socializing.I will definitively comeback in two months time.

Mirabela is one of those restaurants that surprises and is definitely worth visiting. Located some 20 minutes from Aachen in the small town of Roetgen, it is easy to find and there is free car parking. From entering the restaurant the service was friendly and attentive. While the menu was in Germany only, the waiter made suggestions and gave advice in English. The restaurant has a deliberate Mediterranean feel, and is open and relaxed. We started with beef carpaccio and a marinated goats cheese salad (drizzled with a Balsamic vinegar sauce). The taste and presentation were excellent and of a level that you would expect to find (if lucky) at much more expensive restaurants. For the main courses, my son and I had Argentine rindfilet (which I think translates into tenderloin) while my wife had prawns. All were perfectly cooked and full of flavour to the extent that our teenage son cleared his plate including vegetables! The complete meal of two starters, three mains (and not the least expensive on the menu), several glasses of house Pinotage wine, cola and mineral water came to 111⬠- which for the total experience we considered to be excellent value - we talked about it all the way home! Mirabela is now our preferred "local".

This was my first visit to this Greek owned Cafe-Bistro in the center of Eupen. It was the season to eat "Spargel" (asparagus). I decided to have a Spargel with meat, which was not bad. However, serving 'Pommes Frites' with it was not exactly my preference.Food was good but not more. Service was friendly and prompt.

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants!!It has all it takes to make it a first class dining experience, but with a surprising low budget. The meals are way too big even if you're hungry as a wolf and they are just delicious!!

Home made pasta and italian cuisine with creative options that makes an exciting experience going to this restaurant. Service is really good, and wine options are not long but delicious. Btw, if you can afford it, buy a bottle of their olive oil....another league! They have "take away" which is also a good option for locals.
