Fantastic Calabrese cuisine, and a great atmosphere. Try to get a table outside on the patio in the summer. Don't get there too early ... ideally arrive at 9 or 10 pm to get in the place when it's in full swing!

Went for dinner with friends during holiday. The place was stunning from the outside as well as inside. Former warehouse and mill it has been converted nicely into a cosy restaurant. Unfortunately, the night was rainy and as soon as the humidity went up we all felt suffocating. There should definitely be better ventilation in the main hall as the meat grill they have isn't helping when the temperatures are high.The pizzas were normal size, oven baked but nothing special compared to other places in Calabria. The Nutella pizza for dessert was quite a good surprise though.

I went to this restaurant with 6 other guests. The service was excellent, the menu was varied and loaded with heaps of great options. Our orders were taken and meals delivered promptly. The wine was pleasant and well priced. I would recommend this restaurant to any visitors in the area. The only thing I could recommend would be perhaps some Italian music in the background.

Se vado per vacanza o altro in un posto , soprattutto una nuova località è regione quello che cerco di norma è assaggiare anche i cibi locali. Conoscere con il cibo è importante almeno per me. Taurianova e dintorni è famosa per lo "stocco" o stoccafisso, ovvero un baccalà non salato...quindi essiccato naturalmente senza aggiungere altro. In questo ristorante ho chiesto ed assaggiato diverse versioni dello stocco. Da quello in insalata, a quello fritto o arrosto. Bene!vi garantisco come come sono in grado di sviluppare questo ingrediente ...al cappero Nero sono dei veri maestri. Cena squisita. Leggera e che si è svolta in un ambiente semplice e raffinato. Chef superlativa e servizio impeccabile. Il prezzo? Adeguato ...ma non certo da locanda o trattoria. Ma ne valeva la pena.

Una serata tra amici dedicata alla degustazione dello stocco ben riuscita. Locale accogliente ed arredato con gusto. Personale cordiale gentile disponibile ad accogliere le richieste di una tavolata un rumorosa e come si suol dire di buona forchetta. Il menù degustazione è ben composto e ricco di portate, a mio modesto parere anche ben cucinate. Una serata in cui si è mangiato bene, ed il prezzo è stato equo per ciò che si è mangiato.

Invitati a cena da amici in questa osteria di San Giorgio, ed è una gradita sorpresa.Iniziamo con un misto di antipasti di prodotti tipici locali, sia caldi che freddo. Degno di menzione lâinsalata di Stocco fredda.Ottima la stroncatura (pasta tipica del posto fatta di diverse farine) con il sugo di Stocco.Anche lâassaggio di interiora di agnello al tegame molto Buone e saporite.Ambiente molto pulito, personale molto cordiale ed attento.Complimenti!!!

Went to the Donna Nela for dinner while on holiday in the area. The little atrium in the middle of this traditional italian villa is really atmospheric and romantic. The service was prompt and friendly but the staff were a bit 'pushy' at times. In general i think they should let the customers decide what they want to eat rather than 'forcing' their opinion. The cured meats and cheese starter was very tasty and quite a large portion. The stroncatura pasta that the owner was boasting about was ok but definetely not as impressive as i expected. The beef tagliata was average as the meat was quite chewy. Perhaps it wasn't their best day as the rest of the customers looked satisfied. Finally there is a big wine list with local wines to suite any palette.To conclude, although it is the best all around restaurant in the area the cooking did no justice to the venue which is truly amazing. Perhaps i can try again next year.

This is simply one of the best, most authentic, fantastic restaurants in the universe. One can not miss a trip to La Mamma. Everything is how it should be: rustic charm, fantastically fresh food, family-friendly service. ... and if you are looking for a place to "pop the question", I can assure you that a summer evening on the patio at La Mamma has a magic to it like nowhere else.

The food just kept coming. It was Sunday lunch time and the place was filled with local families from Cittanova and surrounding towns. Food was abundant and delicious and the proprietorâs energy was contagious. We loved the local fish plate, grilled seafood and the pasta with clams and pomodori sauce. The service was prompt but not rushed. Highly recommended.
