We stopped here after a day of climbing and were surprised to find this quality restaurant in a small town of 600. The owner, Javi, serves the tables & could not be more friendly or gracious. We followed his recomendation & chose the 5 course. pre fix menu which was outstanding! A tasty local salad with a mustard vinagrette started the meal, patatas bravas, & an amazing bacalao appetizer got things off to a delicious start. For the mains we had pork cheeks with figs in a reduced wine sauce that melted in your mouth, and pork cutlets with quinoa and an amzing sauce. Desert was a creative homage to Chips Ahoy cookies (I'm not kidding!) and mango ice cream in a mango juice soup. Both were amazing! Javi recomended & excellent ribera to go with the meal. An amazing restaurant! We are returning tonight & pre ordered a venison paella that takes several hours to prepare.

You can not leave Chulilla without trying the most representative food of the area. In our restaurant you can taste typical stews and casseroles, these recipes of the grandmother, cooked for hours over low heat. In all of our dishes we use seasonal vegeta
El Pozo served us delicious local food that was smart but unpretentious. The pork cheeks were particularly good, and having eaten there twice, we didn't have a single dish that failed to live up to expectations. They also have an English menu for those who have limited Spanish skills. Recommended.

A charming place, near a roundabout, with an old fashioned bodega bar at the right side and the restaurante Las Bodegas inside to the left. The service is pleasant and smiling by 2 waitresses. The menus are excellent, of super quality, and all dishes well presented, done with passion ! We had a taste of all: the menu tradicional, the menu gastronomic, and a la carte! Most special to me was the Salmon with escaveche of naranja, very tasty inventive combination ! My in-law recommended this place and I surely will return as it is only a 25 min drive from home, with quite no trafic on the road.

La Rueda was one of the few restaurants in the Chulilla area that opened at lunchtime, although not every day. When we arrived (at 1pm) it was still closed, but were told by the friendly manager of a good bar nearby where we could get a drink and wait for the restaurant to open. There was an English menu provided, although we needed to use our own Spanish to order effectively - not a problem! We ate at the restaurant twice, and both times were given simple but extremely tasty food from the local region. The ribs were delicious, and the pigs trotters a new but tasty experience. Both the above were served with chips and no vegetables, so this is definitely a destination for the dedicated carnivore, although vegetarian options were available. Portion sizes were perfect and left both me and my partner full, but not stuffed. You can't argue with three courses for 16 euros either! If we visit the region again, we'll definitely look to return here.
