Reviews on Mediterranean food in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Gateway to Belize, Tikal in Guatemala and the numerous Río Bec ruins, Chetumal is the capital of Quintana Roo state. Buses connect major cities, including those in Belize. Rental cars cannot be taken through the Belize border. The busy city's old town boasts a Caribbean feel. The excellent, interactive Museo de la Cultura Maya offers fascinating insights to those planning to follow the dramatic Río Bec ruin route. The vine-strewn ruins are rich in wildlife and give the sense of stumbling onto a Lost World.

The hotel is tucked away in a small modern mall. It is definitely the best arab food I have tried in town, especially their kibes, which were fried to have the perfect crust and were really well seasoned. I have been there twice, the first for take out and the next I dined at the place. Both times the owner was present, which I believe has a definite impact on quality.
Our restaurant serves the best meat of Chetumal, also we have the autentic arabian food from our grandparents gave us. If you want to try our dishes, please come here. Our mexican grill and arabian food are waiting for you.
Two visits here, a month apart, have convinced me to make Bacus part of my Chetumal routine when visiting. We enjoyed an Arabian appetizer plate followed by a mixed grill with arrecherra, sausage and chicken. Besides not being careful about the portions we ordered, the meal was perfect enough to repeat, with similar results the second time. Early evening is a great time to go and have the place to yourself.

The owner is absolutely adorable. (She speaks a little French!! C'est fantastique) If you're getting savory crepes I recommend getting a few & letting everyone in your group try them. The sweet crepes are so yummy! We got the crepe abunduncia. I'll def be back next time I'm in chetumal, esp for the dessert crepes. Love the French atmosphere, you can taste a bit of Mexican influence in the food, sugar in Mexico is less sweet than the U.S. Keep that in mind :) great experience!!!Thank you very much for your visit. If my wife had the pleasure to serve you. I am the Chef Richard and I look forward to see you next time.
