We had several lunches and dinners over there during our 12 days stay in Ascea. La Porta Rosa offers great marine and terrestrial food at reasonable prices. Also good local wines and elicious home desserts. Very quick and friendly service. People say that they also serve a good pizza but we never tried it. What else to meet everybody's taste?

We met friends at the beach and they suggested we join them for dinner at Mamma Angelino's/ What a night and what a dinner. This restaurant is on the street that parallels the beach in Marina Casal Velino. If you walk out the restaurant's front door and cross the street you are on the beach! Our friend, who is Italian and lives in this town and owns the best bakery in town, Franco's Bar ordered our meal with the owner. Plate after plate of different fish came out. Each better than the previous. When I saw our friend about to order entrees, I said BASTA (enough) we all agreed. The food was fabulous and the service great. We will return.

Recommended by friends we visited one evening on a midweek evening in September. Warm welcome, well kept grounds and restaurant. Mixed house antipasti â¬10 had a bit of everything and was enough to share for 2. Veal chop and mixed grilled meats very tasty and nicely cooked at â¬8 each. Good well priced wine list - we paid â¬15 for the maffini Kleos which was god value. Attentive service in a well spaced dining room. Gardens look fab but too dark and late in the year to try. And they archived the unusual combo amongst Southern Italian toilets: toilet seat, toilet paper, hand soap and hand towels and very clean. Well worth a visit.

I ate at La Cambusa twice; both times for lunch, when I arrived on by road bike, all sweaty and hungry, from near the Paestum where I was staying. The first time, they looked at me a bit odd, but they were very friendly anyway. Perhaps they don't get many sweaty cyclist arriving at their door for lunch. The second time, they already knew me and welcomed me with a friendly smile. Both times, I had delicious lunches, which fueled me for my return. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious and the cook / owner came to say hello to me both times. Lovely place overall, for both food quality and service.

Had dinner there the other night and were not disappointed at all. Menu had more fish than meats but offered something for everybody. Service was expedicious and attentive although a bit on the fanatic side ( you don't have to rush over to my table when I'm about to refill my wife's glass and do it for me, really). Food was beautifully presented and very tasty. Desserts were magnificent, or so my kids testified. Prices were very reasonable (90 euros for a three course meak with wine for the four of us). Too bad this restaurant is on a narrow sidestreet of the Lungomare; a view would have made it excellent)

Our restaurant is located in the heart of the Cilento National Park, a few kilometers from Casal Velino Marina, Acciaroli, Pioppi, Santa Maria di Castellabate, Palinuro. Our cuisine, mainly seafood, fresh products and is based on the typical Mediterranean
Here you can taste good fish but also hand made pasta and delicious desserts, such as torta al limone or cannoli. If you really lire fish, I would recommend the catch of the day_something new every day, grilled, broiled or stewed just forma you. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. It is worth a visit.

We were recommended to this restaurant by our neighbor in Italy. It is very near the beach towns of Ascea and Marina Casal Velino. This is an old beautiful house on an estate that is a wonderful restaurant. The mother and her daughters serve you while her husband is nearby to talk. The food is pure Cilento type food. It is delicious and simple. You can dine inside or outside. We chose outside in a wonderful garden. The local wine is delicious and inexpensive. There are many types of dishes from meats, fish to pastas. The pasta was cooked to perfection, al dente (well this is Italy after all). We left full and very satisfied. We were taken back by the genuine friendliness of the people.
