Reviews on Mediterranean food in Brno, Moravia, Czech Republic. The charms of the Czech Republic's second-largest city may not be immediate, but spend a few days in this Moravian town and Brno's vibrant, authentic Czech ambiance will win you over. It's a fine way to experience Czech life without the teeming herds of tourists that visit Prague. Art Nouveau, Empire and Neoclassical buildings stand in the bar- and restaurant-packed old city center. Leafy parks abound. Be sure to get a photo with a local landmark, the suspiciously crocodilian Brno Dragon statue.

No storm can do us any harm for we are anchored at this Greek restaurant table tasting retsina Malamata and combining pita bread with olives, feta cheese and eggplant spread. This time we did not have much time, but anyway we had a minute to enjoy the lovely orange cake and fresh yoghurt too. We agree with the scientists´recommendation that the Meditarranean diet is the most healthy one. Keep enjoying life!

Needed a quick meal and drink on a hot summer evening. This fit the bill perfectly. Plenty of room on their deck out front so I had a peaceful beer or two and the chili burger. The beer was great especially the esb and the Pilsner. The chilli burger was tasty and messy as it should be. Lots of hustle and bustle in the little square - a great location for an informal meal.

This basque restaurant was recommended to us by a local guide who showed us the city. The guide himself being Canadian, we were a little bit sceptic, but Don Pintxos didnât disappoint. They really have a lovely selection of excellent wines and the friendly staff clearly knows their wines very well. Based on your personal wine taste, they will recommend you a wine.True to basque tradition, a fine selection of pintxos are presented on the counter top. Just point to the ones you like and staff will serve them to you. Depending on your appetite you can eat as much as you like. Do try the gambas a la plancha, they were really excellent.A nice find in Brno nearby the new town hall.

We chose La Bouchee for a small family birthday lunch. I recall the place being neat with a attentive service and delicious food. Resting on one's laurels? First of all: if you serve something as a speciality, make sure it's damn mouth watering. I ordered the lamb and sadly the meat was hard and chewy. Spinach muffin had a weird sticky texture. Sad for a chef speciality. Creme brulee combo was okay-ish, escargots were nice, not impressive, but nice. The service was probably lost somewhere... the waitress didn't even bother to offer drinks, we had to push her to tell us what's available. Then she brought bread, well only bread. Is it a new fashion thing to serve bread and no butter or some spread? Even scented olive oil would be a plus! The interior of the restaurant would deserve some serious fix. The toilet door color gone from all the hands touching it is expected in a restaurant of a different price band. Last but not least, the restaurant presents itself as a slightly upscale-ish for local standards. Okay, but then having guests over in the wine cellar who run around in dirty jeans short and swear loudly? Well sure a way to ruin your appetite. If you wanna be somewhat around the area, go to Forhaus, close by, same price range and way better service and food.

Authentic italian restaurant, tradicional home cooking, homemade pasta.
We usually sit inside the restaurant, but as it was full and busy we took seats outside enjoying the fresh air. More pleasures were offered and many were ordered: salad with goat cheese, risotto and pasta and so called "Italy on the table" including wine and smiles of everyone. Grazzie mille, Sergio, we like your place, team and good energy.Thank you very much, it´ s always a nice pleasure to meet you. Enjoy the rest of the summer! Ciao Sergio

Delicious Moravian Cabernet Sauvignon was cold; tasty sea bass was hot; the understated decor was cool and the service was warm. I shall return!

We visited this restaurant in Brno as it was recommended to us by a friend. The menu was small and looked inviting. We opted to go for a steak from a large selection of various cuts of local beef, but we were disappointed when the waitresses was unable to explain what the cuts were (some we never heard of) and had to go check the prices to the kitchen a number of times. Unfortunately she did this with attitude and made us feel uncomfortable. When the steaks arrived they tasted great, but were not cooked to our specification (medium-rare arrived rare at best!), which was disappointing due to the high price (we paid 495 for a ~300g rib eye steak). On a positive note, we really enjoyed our starters.Overall, we were disappointed by high prices, average food and low level of service, especially the negative attitude of our waitress.

Sunset is non-smoking restaurant with garden terrace, placed on the roof of IBC centre. From the resturant is beautiful view of historic centre and also panoramatic view over whole Brno. If you looking for a restaurant for romantic dinner or special event
I had a delicious meal here my first night in Brno. A grilled sheep's cheese as a starter that was simply superb, followed by wiener schnitzel and fresh green beans. The schnitzel was not as amazing as that grilled cheese, but also quite good. The green beans were perfect! Sadly, I was there at around 7 PM in late October so already quite dark and the views weren't really compelling. But all in all, a very enjoyable meal.
