Cosy little restaurant - very inviting. Plenty to choose from on menu everyone at the table happy with their meals. Prices were ok and service was fast. Difficult to order for the children (healthier options) but I find this is many places. Would have been perfect score if children's meal options were a little better.

We visted this charming restaurant on our first night of our holiday, the restaurant closed shortly after presumably as the main season had finished. Service was good and the food was good also and overall we would assess the restaurant to be good but not very good.

gramma is responsible for the ravioli. Service can be slow in full tourist season but hang in. The owner is delightful. The village, Rocchetta Nervina ( 200 or so people) is in an amazing medical town, next to a beautiful River. Only an hour from Nice airport ( go through Menton, ventimelia then up to the village. Stay at amazing Casa Villatalla guest house which is close by.

Ligurian Restaurant with Fantastic Views Eat Ligurian style food in the mountains of the hinterland of 5 Valli. U Gentile is located in the most beautiful surroundings in the hills. Food is great and so is the welcoming atmosphere presented by Claudio.
Went for lunch with my wife and ordered ravioli with rabbit. Was dissapointed by the fact that there was practically no rabbit in the ravioli (i actually thought they had brought the ravioli with herbes) and when i mentioned this to the waiter he said this was normal as there's very little rabbit in the ravioli. I was then confronted by the owner who very arrogantly again explained this is the way they're meant to be. He never gave me the opportunity to explain myself and just went back to the kitchen. The chef then came out offering me another plate of ravioli which I declined as I was full and all I wanted was the bill so i could leave. Again, with a terrible attitude, I was told I was the first one to ever complain and if I wasn't happy I could leave the restaurant which I promptly did. The ravioli were actually very good just not what I had expected. The owner was extremely arrogant they need to learn customer service. Claudio proprietario Ristorante Gentile

We travelled by train from Nice to Sospel (there is no bus, except from Menton). The train crawled along and stopped for over 20 mins at l'Escarene. We arrived at Sospel at 14.00 hrs instead of 13.30. This restaurant had finished serving lunches, but did offer us a tuna quiche meal. Service was prompt. The quiche was served with a green salad, with an excellent balsamic vinegar dressing. Drinks were very reasonably priced, and we were grateful to get lunch at the late hour. The quiche was very good. Return trains were over 45 mins late, and the train from Nice to Golfe Juan was over 30 mins late. Our advice after 50 years of travelling to the Nice region is to avoid train travel....it is no longer reliable and is incredibly expensive.

A nice little restaurant 25 minutes from the French border. It is located up a hill in a tiny, picturesque village a short but lovely drive from Ventimiglia, Italy. The restaurant is family owned and operated. The food is simple, homemade and good. We learned about it from some Italian friends who drive between Turin and Menton, France often and stop there for a meal. We like to take visiting friends there to experience having a good meal in a small, medieval, hilltop village.

In the fresh and little Piazzetta of the Ulivis, between the green leafy branches of the aralies and the perfume of jasmines and glicini, eccoci here to the number 18, enthusiastic to put us to your disposition to make you spend a pleasant and magic eveni
What a find. Tucked away in the depths of Rocchetta this is a must if you are in the area. Run by two young ladies, one of whom speaks excellent English, the food is up to capital city standards and such a friendly service. Go there!!

We stopped at 2G while exploring Sospel, and had a good, generous, well-made lunch. The salade nicoise was tasty and the fish soup delicious. Service was fast, polite and efficient. Perhaps not the ultimate gastronomic experience, but just what we needed.

Located in the centre of Saorge the only thing the restaurant misses out on is the view. Great value and tasty Italian with a very friendly couple running it.
A family run restaurant in this charming auberge set in the French countryside
The Hotel is located at the top of a steep mountain with wonderful views. Access is by the one winding road up from France or up from Italy. A relaxing place to stay, cloud watching with a beer is a good pastime; watching traffic negotiating the winding mountain road is an added interest. Friendly and welcoming hosts. We sadly picked the two days the restaurant was closed so unable to comment on the home cooked meals. We would not hesitate in returning to stay.
