Met some friends for dinner (we got an outdoor table). Pleasant ambience, friendly and warm owner/chef, with very good service, and even better food. Imaginative dishes executed with a keen sense of balance. The ingredients are of the highest quality, the dishes come out at the ideal temperature; I was especially impressed with many of the seafood dishes we tried. I would return here in a minute, and will gladly recommend this place to my friends and readers of my Italian Wine blog.

La struttura e' chiusa e i dati sensibili fanno parte della vecchia gestione pertanto chiedo la chiusura del profilo .
We had a lovely dinner at Ristorante i Maggi with 4 courses. But before that, we were surprised with a delicious amuse. The starter was very creative: a cappuccino of seafood! First and second course tasted good as well, though were a bit less exclusive. The staff was friendly and gave some good advice. Last but not least, we liked the combination of old and modern interior.

Surrounded by a bucolic lanscape, rustic but refined restaurant prepares the best dishes of the local and national cuisine. The masterpieces are the seafood flavours enchanted by local and national wines.
On this Wednesday which is a very important holiday in Florence, friends who live in this area took us for lunch. It is gorgeous! The atmosphere set on top of a breezy small mountain with scenic views and charming tables all outside made for a perfect setting to escape the confusion of the city and step back and enjoy the quiet of this locale. AND, the food. ....not only was it prepared perfectly but presented in a way that made you think you were in a very fine dining venue...which we were! We loved this day, this restaurant and the staff, everything about it. To get there...well, it is not hard with a car of course, and the town of Buti and the surrounding area are well worth an entire day. We did not see any tourists whatsoever but the staff spoke English this I know for sure. If you are driving just follow signs towards Pisa and then to Buti and then onto this restaurant. You will be happy you did.

Great restaurant tucked away in Bientina Toscana nice place overlooking a man made lake.We had dinner there on a Monday the food was mouth watering. We had some lovely pasta with shellfish my friend had some delicious ravioli and the Frittto misto was superb. We then had a Fiorentina , a fillet and fresh fish all cooked to perfection. We opted for their local wine by the carafe which was from a Montalbano winery quite good.Desserts were amazing , service 100% the owner who is of Corsican origin takes pride in her work and really takes care of her clients.Grazie di Cuore!!!

Hosterias or Ostarias or Osterias are/were in Italy poular places where to eat "casareccio" (genuine not refined) food. Many have just the signs of the old Hosterias, this one has the food as well... I eat "pappardelle al cinghiale" (kind of pasta with wild boar sauce), Wildboar, potatoes in the haven, fresh salad, and good anonymous Tuscania's wine, the price never excedeed 12 euros. The lady owner is a typical kind and energetic Pisan woman... recomended, no doubt about it!

We had a fabulous evening at this fantastic restaurant. Our gracious hosts for the evening were Alessandro, the inspired cook, and his lovely wife, Elena, who did front of house. The setting was the verdant, peaceful outdoor area at the back of the restaurant. We were with a group of friends, and tried the gustation menu, which offered treat after treat. The food was decidedly Italian style, but with a creative contemporary twist. Alessandro and Elena where possible use fresh produce from the local area, with all meat and vegetables sourced from the Tuscan countryside around Bientina. We started with an antipasto of onions stuffed with a mousse of chicken cacciatora and capsicum sauce. This was followed by two 'primi' consisting of a delicious risotto with tomato, lemon and coffee, with a mozzarella sauce, and then came tortiglioni with a meat sauce, with thyme and parmiggiano cheese. The 'secondo' was bistecca fritta with mashed potato, cooked to perfection and very flavoursome. Finally for desert, out came beautiful home-made ice cream with crumble. The menu changes from night to night, as Alessandro has a huge repertoire of dishes, so you'd be unlikely to be offered the above menu, but whatever you have, you can be sure that it will both surprise and delight.

Visited while staying locally in November. This restaurant is located at the edge of the village and is fairly easy to get to on foot if staying locally. The restaurant is welcoming and well laid out, the staff where very helpful when explaining the menu which is in italian.Enjoyed a pleasant small soup before the starter we both had the pate which was excellent. For mains we had the barbecued chicken which was lovely and moist however the skin although very crispy was very heavily laden with salt. Dessert was really nice would recommend the cheesecake Very reasonably priced and would definately visit again.
