It's a very cozy restaurant with a different type of concept. We serve traditional food with our very own modern twist. It's advised to share one of our starters board and then one of our main courses (1 person) for each two. Hope you enjoy your meal!
Tabua & Barro Do Noldo is a good restaurant that for us provided a disappointing customer experience. Somewhat unique at Tabua, the food is served on wood boards which my wife and I shared. After a brief introduction, the waiter explained how dinning typically occurs, a shared appetizer platter and a shared main entree as portions are quite large. He did not provide us with any menu and then plied is with two higher priced glasses of wine that together cost more than fine bottles we had in other quality restaurants in Portugal. Although the waiter sought out our food preferences, he failed to explain that the vast majority of the appetizers were deep fried (not really what we expected or preferred). For dinner we had two exceptional dishes, one a thick cut tuna with a light cream sauce and the other cod with migos, an incredible clam flavored bread and shrimp stuffing. Here again the pricing on the smaller portions wasnât explained and was an unwelcome surprise. Tabua could be an exceptional restaurant but needs to temper its somewhat pushy wait staff. The restaurant staff should be more respectful to all, even apparent tourists, and fully disclose the dinning options and pricing before pouring a glass of high priced wine or recommending a smaller but comparably priced entree. You can enjoy a meal at Tabua, but to avoid surprises be inquisitive and ask for options and prices.

Me and my partner and his parents have been here in the last weekend of September and the food from starters to deserts the food was amazing and full of flavour! The creme brulee with halzenut that I had was the best one I've ever had. Totally recommend. Advice to book table because can get really full and busy.

Vegan and Vegetarian options
Stopped here on a lunch break from day trip. Lovely little restaurant, the owner greeted us and was very helpful with ordering (no menu just daily specials). My husband doesnât eat seafood so he had a toasty (ham and cheese sandwich with caramelized onions) which turned out to be amazing! I tried the codfish dish which was like a fish and veggie bake with salad. Was a nice option on a hot day. Really enjoyed it and was a great quick stop.

A tiny place in a small traditional alentejo village with the best local food and excellent service. Casual dining outside or inside, very friendly staff and not expensive. We had goat's fresh cheese with ripe tomatoes and basil in balsamic vinegar (I wish we had asked for two), beef and lagartos de porco with homemade chocolate mousse as desert! Yum!!

O serão, o pitéu e a pinga! / The evening, the tapas and the drinks! The place to experience good food (traditional and not) and good wine (from north to south of Portugal) Reservas apenas online. Online reservations only.
Every dish is wonderful and extremely well priced. We loved it so much we went back again 3 days later. You will experience flavours you have never had before. Iâm not a foodie but this stuff is good. $5-8 euros for most of the share plates. 3 dishes and a bottle of wine about $40 euros. Very reasonable. This guy should be on one of those Master Chef shows. Heâs a genius with food.

Having read the reviews for this popular restaurant we got there at 1215hrs on Saturday and got the last table available. The service is very good with very friendly waiters one of whom speaks a little English. The menu is extensive [with some Englush interpretations] with a very good selection of mains and even desserts. We ordered a "1/2 dose" and found this was a very generous portion for one. There is a wide selection of typical rural Portuguese food on the menu including the ever-popular bacalhau [salt cod] and various stews, the black pork is very good. As with most Portuguese food the presentation is non-existant, there is no finesse and you get chips and rice on the same plate as accompaniments to meat, it is because of this that I have not given 5 stars. However this is a great restaurant, which I will go to again because of the varied menu, the pleasant staff and even the complimentary liquors with coffee.

Our meal at Cafe Havanessa was outstanding in every respect. The food prepared by Florbella was out of this world and was beautifully presented and accompanied by the best Vinho Verde we have ever had. The service was friendly, welcoming and fantastic, and the decor quirky and tasteful. This place is a real find and is a credit to Florbella, who used to be an architect and has now turned her creative passion to the kitchen.

Arrive hungry, donât even consider breakfast, have one coffee and a litre of water then prepare yourself for a feast. You MUST book, whilst sitting in the restaurant they turned about 10 people away because they were full. The food just comes at you, no choice, which, sometimes is a blessing, it was all great, it was all unsophisticated but all delicious, the green sludgy looking thing Is not to be missed, amazing, made with Coriander, garlic, bread, vegetables olive oil and a bit of vinegar, the neck of black pork, cooked for 3 hours in wine and herbs fell off the bone and was scrumptious. To start, a compendium of local tastes that include what can only be described as a mini Swiss fondue (I could have eaten just that to be honest). Jao who runs the place is utterly charming and will look after you. This ainât fine dining in the biblical sense but you must go here.
