Itâs a shame that this restaurant is so high on TripAdvisor ratings in Miri. Was attracted by the high rating thus the huge disappointment. We came during lunch time on a Sunday, the restaurant wasnât event pack. As we came in a big group(7pax), we had to combine a few tables together ourselves. The staff were just standing there happily chatting among themselves. Just when we began sitting down, I heard my wife screamed. Apparently one of the staff splashed curry onto her from behind! The staff didnât even bother to apologize or even say anything about this incident! They just laughed away as if nothing ever happened. We proceeded to changed the table ourselves away from the curry serving location and arranged the tables ourselves again. (We didnât walk away from the restaurant after the curry splashing incident because the kids are glued to the tv playing Harry Potter) We tried to order some satay and was told thereâs no gravy! What a joke! We have to make do with nasi lemak and nasi Kelabu. If you think the curry splashing incident is the worst thing that could happen to us then you are wrong. They served us undercooked fried chicken. Not once but twice! We complain and ask them to replace it the first time, and to our shocking, they return the second fried chicken which was not even cooked! When we cut open one of the pieces, it was uncooked inside, blood dripped on to the serving plate! This is the first time I see blood dripping out from a fried chicken! And to top this? The staff wasnât even concerned nor apologizes, they just bring the chicken back and were seen laughing away again! Man... if the place continue to employ staffs with such behavior , I think this business will fold very soon. The management should stop replying TripAdvisor reviews with the same reply template and start looking/review their own business instead!1 star. Which is the lowest score I have ever given in TripAdvisor, and I must say it is definitely a well deserved one. I would like to advice fellow TripAdvisor mates to stop visiting such business that provide non existence services and were purely running just to earn money! Stay away from this place!I really appreciate that you have taken the time to write. I am horrified to hear of your experience; this is certainly not how we expect our staff to behave and we shall take urgent and severe action against all involved.We do not use a TripAdvisor reply template. Each entry deserves it's own reply and I do this because the only way we can learn is to take notice of customers.My telephone number is displayed clearly on the wall near the cashier and can be used at any time.Our sincere apologies for this and thanks again for bringing it to our attention.

Service is friendly & attentive but waiters & waitresses are inexperienced, could do with more training eg. water refills, requests, knowledge of menu etc. We ate local dishes that we miss, like Sarawak Laksa, Midin, Udang Galah, etc We enjoyed the atmosphere of the open kitchen. Sad to see only 2 tables of diners in the entire restaurant. Please support this place! The Sarawak laksa here is well-known.

It is a local market rather than an tourist point to see, with chinese market nearby, central market is located next to the Miri Bus hub, you wont miss it while heading towards westerly to Bintulu or Kuching, local food court, fruit market and handcraft lots are found there on a daily basis. Groceries and cigarette retailers are also present. Worth a visit starting your day with KO LO MEE, a traditional malaysian chinese breakfast noodle served dry with BBQ pork chops.

Nothing to shout about. The sambal is not spicy enough. If you ask for more sambal, they will charge you for it.

Virtually opposite the Miri Marriott. There are two venues, this one and the New Tanjung Restaurant. Both do great chinese food. Seating both inside and outside. Quick service, great food and cheap.

Been here a few times to this basic Chinese Seafood restaurant near Marriott Resort at Miri. Really great service and fabulous food. Try the Middin Fern with garlic. This is a green veg and alternative to kangkung. Itâs a local veg and truly delicious. The local caught Seafood is the best. The Red Fish and the prawns are so fresh and superbly cooked. Device is attentive. Price is very affordable. Highly recommended.

At first glance, it almost looks like any typical kopitiam. The food also looks unassuming and this is a no-frills down-to - earth place. Make no mistake, the food is very good and cheap and you can't easily find this kind of cuisine anywhere. Must try if you are in Miri

Read about this place and made a b-line for it. We werenât disappointed! The fish is so fresh, itâs swimming next to you before you make your selection, and the staff are very helpful. This was the best seafood we had in our time in Borneo. Overlook the decor, the food is worth it.

We have stayed at the Miri Marriott a fair few times over the last couple of months and have dined at Zest in the morning for breakfast and in the evening for dinner. A very clean environment, but very busy, so if you prefer a quiet meal this might not be the place for you. Breakfast - a pretty impressive selection of food, breads, cakes, egg station, noodle station, cereals, fresh fruit, pancakes, juices, selection of teas and coffee...Dinner - lots of food on offer but I personally struggle to find things that go well together from the buffet selection or the fish is always gone before I get there. The seafood station looks amazing but it isn't very clear on what you can have or how to have it, so I haven't been brave enough to try it yet. There is usually a beef stew on offer in the buffet area and the taste of carrots and mushrooms in it are delicious...Watch out for bones in it though, we got caught out with the children. Green steamed vegetables are very nice and fresh. We generally make a trip to the BBQ area for the children and gather a big plate of BBQ food and add a plate of wedges and salad etc. Ice cream is yummy and deserts always look and taste very good.Dear JSRKTH,Greeting from Zest Restaurant !Thank you for choosing Zest as dining venue for your dinner recently. My partner and I tried this resto coz of the good reviews but it was a very disappointing experience. We both enjoyed the ambience and service but the food and drinks were disappointing. We ordered ceasar wrap, carbonara and chicken cordon bleu. The carbonara sauce tasted like its premade sauce you can buy from the supermarket, have tried so much better. The cordon bleu chicken breast was dry. For the price of the food its not worth it. Also the drinks was a bit tasteless and my bfâs drink which was the royal calamsi has seeds and calamansi skin blended?? I was just as confuse as he was. The ceasar wraps, on the other hand, i suprisingly enjoyed.We appreciate you taking the time to write this feedback. Please accept our sincere apologies if our Pasta Cabonara and Chicken Cordon Bleu were not to your liking. We take all reviews seriously and we try to conduct our own post-mortem as best as we can. We do not serve pre-bought Carbonara sauce as how you perceive it, instead we cook it à la minute where it is prepared to order. As our kitchen is Halal certified, you will never taste the true Carbonara sauce here because of the ingredients used.
