I had been there for the lunch with my friends. It has been situated at the second floor of the building and has both a/c and non a/c restaurant as well. We ordered chicken ghee roast and crunchy chicken which was really amazing with the perfect blend of taste and aroma. For the main course we had Arabian rice and Nawab rice which was good and a bit spicy. At last we ordered double sundae ice cream. The rates were normal and yes you can have a try.

This restaurant is among the oldest chain of restaurants in Manipal. It has been around for atleast 6-8 years from what I recall, and I'd hate to see it disappear. The seating arrangement is majorly plastic chairs and tables. There is nothing fancy in the way it looks. Yet their menus offer a good variety of unique Malaysian, Indonesian foods and then there are the usual Indian dishes. The fact that a lot of Malaysians actually go there for their daily meals gives me reason to believe that the dishes are almost bang on to their cuisine. I have seen a lot of places offering cuisines from other countries, but they Indian-ize it a bit with our own spices, hence losing its flavor and authenticity. They don't do that here. There is a black board at the entrance where they mention special items or Chef's specials for the day. The pricing is just right for the amount of food provided. The best meal deals are their Platter dishes where they serve plain, jeera, buttered or egg rice with a gravy of your choice on the side. The gravy may be veg, chicken or fish based. The only thing that threw me a bit off was the use of excessive corn starch and food coloring in the gravies. But this is the trend in several fast food joints, and this preference is highly subjective. This was the first place I've tried a meal soup - an entire bowl of soup with noodles, boiled and crunchy veggies, and diced meat pieces. The spices were just right to tingle the senses, and I felt good at the end of the meal - Like a Healthy meal. The latest item I've tried is a 'Kari Puff' (I'm guessing it is Curry Puff) during snack time. I was introduced to it by a friend and I keep heading back there for more. The version I had was with a filling of curried sweet potato and mashed meat. It's like a delicious non-veg samosa - You wouldn't disagree. The restaurant is located on the road side and is hard to miss. The service is decent and staff was humble.I'm sure they have more to offer than I've explored so far. Their flavored minty beverages are a delight to have with the meal. It is a great place to chill away from the buzz of town. It works well within a small bugdet for a group too.On the whole, I'd rate themFood taste and texture : 8/10Presentation: 8/10Ambience: 6/10 Service: 7/10Uniqueness factor: 8/10Hygiene: 7/10
