This is a tipical roman restaurant
We visited Locanda Manara in Frascati Italy in May, we were taken to the restaurant by friends who have been living in Frascati for the last 10 months and this place was their favorite restaurant in the city! Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and before we could order the chef showed up at our table with home made pizza for us to sample! They were just getting started in making pizza at the restaurant and wanted our opinion! The pizza was fantastic! Antonio and Giovanna were lively, charming and accommodating to ever request! Even though the restaurant does not have risotto on its menu I asked if it was possible to get a seafood risotto, the answer was an immediate yes! Talk about service, and since they just got their pizza oven and was only in the trial phase that too was not on the menu but my son dearly wanted a pizza after the sample! So again they agreed to that! The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, and even when it got busy they had time for us! Wonderful experience and would recommend this place to anyone going to or in Frascati! Thank you Antonio, Giovana and Mimmo, the founding father of this fantastic place! We were pleased just by the look of your review, and we gladly remembered your visit while reading it!!!Thank you really, really much, we appreciated your opinion (Mimmo was a little embarassed, 'tho!) and we really hope to see you around again! To the next time, and thank you again!

We visited Ristorante Cacciani two years ago when we stayed in Frascati and were delighted to visit again with friends . The restaurant was being refurbished but we were not affected by this. We had an excellent meal served by friendly waiters . Highly recommended!thank you very much!!Paolo

My husband, daughter and I recently visited stayed in Frascati. We came across the Osteria San Rocco Piacente whilst wandering around the town on our first evening. The chef was standing at the front door and handed us a card and proceeded to tell us (in Italian so we may not have got the full jist of it!) that the food was good and he gave us each a biscuit to try. We looked up reviews of the restaurant and decided to give it a try. We weren't disappointed and in fact ended up going back every night of our 4 night stay. The restaurant is a small, cosy place - this was particularly important as this time of year the restaurants in the town are a bit quiet especially midweek and since we tended to eat a bit earlier than the locals we didn't want to be sitting in a large empty restaurant. The main bit of the restaurant had about 4/5 tables but these could be rearranged to seat smaller or larger groups. It looked as if there was also seating in the cellar although we didn't go down there. The food was good - it was traditional Italian home cooking - it did feel like the kind of meals that you would eat at home if you were Italian - it felt like real comfort food. We tried the meatballs with red onion marmalade, eggplant/aubergine parmigiana, meatballs in a tomato sauce, steak with rosemary, one of the antipasti starters - for two but easily did the three of us, the deep fried courgette flowers, gnocchi, tiramisu and chocolate cake. We had the house wine which was perfectly drinkable. The young man in charge - I think he was the owner, clearly had a great pride in what he was doing and was happy to go through the menu with us to explain what the various dishes were. We found the prices reasonable - the helpings were generous in my view. We tended to have a starter, three main courses, one of which was always steak, a pudding to share a litre of wine and a bottle of water which came to around the e60 mark for three of us. If you like good home cooked food without pretension and a cosy atmosphere I don't think you would be disappointed.Hello Michelle! I'm Luca, thank you for this fantastic feedback. You are a nice family, and it was a pleasure to serve you! Thank you!Luca Piacente

Another real pizza...like the one in Agropoli...hand made and baked in real oven. And Italian white wine. I know we should have had red one to go with it, but we are white wine drinkers.A 'mezzo litro' was enough to take our tiredness away.Big tasty pizza's and yes, you can eat it all, if you had nothing to eat for a whole day. Touring is hard, sometimes..Eat your pizza and see Rome by night at your feet, can it get more romantically than this ? :) And add a burning open fire...Then we discovered they have also a B&B, but we already booked our stay in Grottaferata. It's 20 km from Rome itself.Very friendly staff, the owner came to have a chat...a nice man !Surely recommended !grazie alla prossima volta

Vieni a scoprire le nostre specialità : dalla classica cucina romana alle fantastiche pizze cotte con forno a legna, per arrivare alle gustose carni alla griglia, il tutto accompagnato da vini e birre selezionate.
We found this place via tripadvisor and fortunately we made a reservation upfront, as the place got really crowded shortly after we arrived. Apparently the place is very popular with the locals. And rightfully so : very friendly service, the pizza's we had were very good, the wine is excellent for the price they charge, and the desserts are very good as well (try the tiramisu fai da te : a do-it-yourself tiramisu). And all for a very reasonable price (without the damned 'coperto', that is applied so often in this country !)Highly recommended !!

Nothing less than perfect. From the moment we walked in till we left the place, there was not a single thing that was not excellent! The waiters were friendly, informative and great translators. The menue being in Italien was not a problem, as the waiters translated the whole thing. Old beatiful furniture in a great classic style. Great atmosphere. The prices were good, dishes varying from 10-25 euros, definitely worth the money! All in all, book a table and you won't regret it!

Came across Il Grappolo d'Oro while visiting Frascati for the day. We sat outside and enjoyed the most delicious selection of cold meats, cheeses, honey, bread, olives and the porchetta really is outstanding. A must! The owner, Isabella, was so lovely and happily chatted away, making us feel very welcome. It was full of local people, too. A real delight, we will be back!

I was actually heading to a different restaurant, which turned out to be closed, when I passed Kitchen Love. Had seen it in Tripadvisor, took a look at the menu that looked great. But it also looked closed. It wasn't - it was just empty. I was welcomed inside and for more than half an hour I was the sole guest. My Italian is, ahem, pretty poor. But a menu in English was found and I ordered a starter (scormazza cheese skewers wrapped in bacon, on a citrus sauce) and main course (pork fillet wrapped in bacon - do you see a theme here?) and side order of porcini mushrooms. And a glass of local wine. It was all great! The starter was tasty and just the right size and although I thought "citrus with cheese" would be a bit weird, it worked really well. The main course was also great, and the mushrooms really wonderful. Although I was pretty full I wanted to try a dessert and went for a mille-feuille made from honey-caramel crackers filled with milk and white chocolate mousses, with a strawberry sauce. Although the mousses were a little on the heavy side, the taste was again great and the crackers were a highlight. Eventually some other diners came in and seemed to enjoy the food. I really liked it and would definitely recommend it. It was not "cheap" but, for the quality and quantity I was perfectly happy to pay 50 euros. Would go again!

In a very nice village on top of the hill you find ancient buildigs and a very scenic view. Romoletto is a wonderful surprise. We got local starters with trippa chickpeas with mushrooms mozzarella goat cheese and salami. Do not forget local specialty arctichokes. Main courses are typical pasta like amatriciana or carbonara but do not forget meat. A great beef tagliata with porcini mushrooms an arctichokes alla romana. Service and price a very nice surprise

Really really poor food. I cannot stress that enough. Very greasy, overly cooked in oil and expensive. I really don't agree with any of the good reviews here. Firstly, they have No menus. Just a board with no clear pricing on it. Second, when we arrived the place was quite, yet we were sat virtually in the road instead of under the shaded umbrella section but were told that area was booked, despite us finishing before anyone seated there. Thirdly, we were offered bread and water which we really didn't want, but were charged for! Come'on guys, charging for bread and water in this day and age!Fourthly, no sides. we ordered potatoes got around 3 small ones chopped up and they were swimming in grease. Fithly, all three of us ordered steak. They were the fattest greasiest steaks I'd ever seen. They too were swimming in grease. Who on earth fry's stake these days? And it was butter too. Talk about increasing calorie intake and destroying natural flavours. The bill: 3 steaks, we had no starters and no deserts. One beer and two soft drinks and the bill was over 70 euros. Don't know if the owner thought "here's some gullible British tourists to rip off (it happened a few times to us in Frascati), but my advice is stay out of this place. Much better restaurants for less in this town. And it doesn't even have a view over Rome, like the restaurants around the corner have. Poor. very poor.
