Best Latin restaurants nearby. Discover the best Latin food in Tucson. View Menus, Photos and Reviews for Latin restaurants near you.. Although Tucson's fantastic weather, national parks and forests and desert provide the perfect environment for tons of outdoor recreational activities, this city of half a million people also has its share of history and culture. With a history that goes back much further than many of its southwestern neighbors, Tucson boasts turn-of-the-century architecture, historic neighborhoods, museums and the Mission San Xavier del Bac, a still-functioning 18th-century mission considered one of the most beautiful in the U.S. Mexican and Native American influences are pervasive, and the city has a distinctly Western flavor. There's also a college-town atmosphere, thanks to the University of Arizona, which has its own share of museums and a science center. Whether golfing at a world-class golf resort, horseback riding, hiking in the wilderness, discovering desert flora and fauna at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum or exploring pre-Columbian and other art at the Tucson Art Museum, you'll have a mind-boggling array of things to do.

We arrived with a 12:45 reservation on Saturday and waited 15 minutes while the hostess was seating people without reservations on a first come basis. We ordered drinks which arrived 20 minutes later (with our water). Appetizer took 30 minutes and I won't even get into the entree order. Unfortunately this seems to be the trend at Blanco. A year ago we had the the same pathetic service and the previous manager (Trey) seemed to make some improvements that were noted during subsequent visits. This time I give up, certainly not worth the effort anymore.

Drove in from Phoenix airport, to Lowe’s V Canyon Resort, and a quick dinner on a Thursday night. It was So busy we had to eat outside on the patio or wait 20-minutes. I ordered a chicken salad, that was, huge and I eventually took at least half back to the room. It was fine and large. Service was not very good, out on the patio, and long wait times. Had to ask for water refills, drinks, salsa, etc. Not a place I’d recommend. Slow, uncaring service. Not real fun.

Was at a fighter pilot reunion and being from Vermont needed a Mexican food fix. Found this for lunch with two buddies. It was full of locals and the food was great! It was sooo good that we insisted some fellow pilots join us there for dinner. They did and also loved it. The service as well as the food could not be surpassed.

Apparently a lot of people enjoy this typical Mexican food and consider this to be the true deal. I thought the food was just okay - too much cheese on my enchiladas. There was a long wait in line outside and truthfully, not worth it.

TIP: Get the "small guacamole" as a side order and use your salsa chips to enjoy it. It's an economical way to have a great treat that extends a very enjoyable meal. This casual restaurant is friendly and cheerful. There are both booths and tables (not a tablecloth place -- at least when I was there late afternoon). The salsa & chips were very good and the delicious entrees were served in a fancier style than I expected from the informal room setting.

Went to “the original” location. great atmosphere. it’s like dining inside of your grandmothers house. Really enjoyed the inside. we split a rather large plate of their famous “carne seca “ which they apparently make / cure onsite. In reality it’s a fairly typical dish of northern mexico known as “carne desebrada” or sonoran-style “ropa vieja” , but it was a decent portion for $15 and was pretty good. Came with rice and beans and really good tortillas. It was 115 degrees outside, so we only split this dish over some drinks, because it was too hot to really go full force on eating. I had a beer that was a local brew and it was really enjoyable. Had a smokey flavor, but cannot remember the name. The margarita was ok, but not my favorite. Chips and salsa were delicious. Apparently the birthplace of the chimichanga... but again it was so hot outside we couldn’t bring ourselves to eat a giant fried burrito. Would like to return for a rematch. The location is convenient to downtown and 4th avenue. Interesting things to check out here. Worth the visit!

We went here following recommendation from Trip Advisor. We were not dissappointed. The food was good, service friendly and attentive. The highlight is the sals that they make ib front of you. They also serve giant margaritas which are really delicious. The interior is somewhat dark, the air-conditioning very strog (dont forget the cardigan or pullover) and decoration is not my cup of tea. But the fiendly atmosphere made up for it.

I've been here three times, and I had the three-dish combination each time, so I've tried a fairly broad swath of the menu.. Outside is a challenging neighborhood, but the inside is cozy, welcoming and sophisticated. Its one of the few Tucson restaurants where you may actually need a reservation. They don't have a printed menu, and won't accommodate much deviation from what's written on the day's blackboard. For example, they serve chips and salsa, but refuse to make pico de gallo. In my experience, the menu includes one type of chicken, beef and fish, each with three sauces, for a total of nine or so entrees. The chicken is a boneless skinless breast, the beef is an economy cut like skirt, and the fish is something common like cod, all priced at $25. Usually the protein is baked or stewed, and there are a variety of sauces, including a couple moles. For an additional $4, you get three dishes selected by the chef from the menu. The portions are huge, with lots of rice and beans topped off with a salad. Overall, I've been a little disappointed. Nothing has been bad, but the protein selection and presentation is bland, and the sauces are routine. Topping the hot main dish with a cold salad detracts from both items. The only desert I've had is the flan, which is cut from a sheet and has a pasty texture.
