I visited this location expecting the same yummy delicious menu as the location in New Mildford. Let's start from the outside... If you are not familiar with the area and you follow the address listed on the website, you can get lost. The place is small for the amount of customers the restaurant serves. The food was between good and average... Nothing to compare with the New Mildford location. The only thing I can say if was really good, was the drink .... Passion Fruit Mojito

Colombian stables at this restaurant. They have their own bakery in the back. Service was good, they serve big portions for very little money. The food came out warm, not hot as i like it but good.

You don't have to travel to Mexico to enjoy the traditional atmosphere and Mexican cuisine at La Fortaleza! Located in Garfield, we take real pride in our authentic Mexican Gastronomy. Our dishes are prepared according to exclusive family recipes and made
First. let me say that their participation in the airline miles dining program brought us here. Their front door is somewhat scary, like the entrance to a Speakeasy. The interior is dimly lit with a garish decor against a black ceiling. There were no prices listed on their specialty drinks menu. We ordered soft drinks and were brought a can of soda sand a bottle of Snapple; we had to ask for glasses of ice. Even though it was after lunch and there were only about 15 people present it took a long time for our entrees to arrive. It seemed even longer because no complimentary chips and salsa were provided to whet our appetites. My barely warm bland Chicken Enchiladas came on a hot plate with lots of lettuce. My spouse's Combo Fortaleza had nice seasoning although a somewhat salty flavor. The rice and beans were average. After the disappointing entrees, we skipped the $6 Flan. They have 1/2 price Happy Hour drinks and Nachos & Wings Mondays through Thursdays that would might motivate you to visit during that time. Just don't go with high expectations for other choices on the menu.

Just chowed on my leftover flank steak and cant believe how good this food was last night! Forget the few nasty reviews, give OSJ a chance and you wont regret it. Almost bailed on the Groupon we bought after reading the reviews, thank God we didnt. Our waitress was exceptional and yhe place is very clean. Now for the food: The stuffed plaintain with pork was so savory and tender i want more now! Empanadilla with beef was perfectly crisp with no oily residue and the main entrees of grilled flank steak and shrimp with coconut sauce had addicting flavors. Sometimes its all about the food. Cant wait to go again!!!

I found their oily chips and watery salsa left an aftertaste in my mouth. They offered several appealing specialty Margaritas for less than $8.50. We had their Monday "All You Eat" special for $11.95 (children under 12; $6.95) featuring soup and 22 popular choices with rice and beans. The Lime soup was packed with chicken and chips and topped with melted cheese. My #10 watery taco contents sogged up the adjacent Chimichanga on plate. Both had plentiful chicken contents but little else was noteworthy. My spouse's #14 (one each chicken, ground beef, and cheese enchilada) were disappointing. Their rice was dry and their re-fried beans average. I closed on a high note with an excellent large, dense flan selected from their extensive dessert menu (for a Mexican restaurant). There's an expansive sports bar on one side and a large dining room on the other side of the entrance. The entrance to their parking lot comes up fast at the top of the hill on Rt 46 East immediately after the Outwater Lane overpass.
