Established in 1994. Welcome to PIO PIO, our "Casa Alegre" (Cheerful House), New York City's Premiere Peruvian restaurant group since 1994, specializing in Pollo a La Brasa (Rotisserie Chicken), authentic cuisine from Peru and our famous "Green Sauce"!. W
My husband loves the chicken at PIO. The space is very small. Take out orders are quick and the service is friendly. Love the Green sauce. I like the rice and beans. Prices are reasonable. Parking can be a problem.

It is easy to over order here. We wanted to visit with our family so decided to get food to go rather than eat out. Since there were four of us we got the Matador Combo; the menu says the "most popular". We had drinks from home; nothing ordered from the restaurant.Well, the combo is enough for about eight people! Or four who don't care how much they weigh. It included a very juicy and flavorful whole chicken split; nicly spiced outside and juicy inside. A portion of yellow rice and red beans; the best part was the beans, the rice was not seasoned but definately yellow. Fried plantines; testones and sweet plantaines and salchipapa were also included. There was some avacado sauce and a viniger dressing for the side salad. They provided plenty of the sauce and dressing in small portion cups.We ate all we wanted the first night and had leftovers for a few days following. The chicken remained juicy and I used the fries in a hash I made. Pick up was quick and convienet. Check out was fast. I did leave a small tip with the takeout order.

This was my first time eating here and I wasn't disappointed. I went with my sister and a friend. I had the Matambre with potato salad and tongue salad. The others had short ribs and skirt steak with salad and sweet plantains. All was fresh and delicious. The flan needs some work and the volume of the music was so loud that we had to ask for it to be lowered and they obliged. The service was good!

Since 1979, El Gauchito is the place where you can find a little piece of Argentine in New York. In a family atmosphere, you may share an Argentinian barbecue or taste authentic dishes from the Argentine cuisine. We offer an extensive menu, delicious dess
We ordered the meat plate for two (the one without sausage, only different cuts of meat). The portions were acceptable, we both left full. The meat was not spiced or minimally, so you need the chimicuri sauce to add some flavor. The bread was soft and the rice my child had was moist. We asked for our meat medium well, but a few were still undercooked. The lulo juice was good as well as the Russian salad (potatoes, peas, carrots). They do need to have had more options for single meals which include a vegetable. You could order cuts of meat, sausage, etc separately and a salad, but everything was individually. My wife and I ended up getting a shared plate of meat for two which included two sides since we each couldn't order a smaller meat portion for ourselves and one side. The service was kind of slow, and when they brought out our dish it was the wrong one, so we had to again wait for a new platter to be cooked.Strollers are not allowed.

This Argentinian steak restaurant is situated in Queens, in a neighborhood so full of different flavors. We had been here years ago and I am glad it is still here. Order a small steak , it is pretty big. Medium cooked is best. The margaritas were enormous and the avocado salad with watercress and shrimp is very interesting. Our friends had the American mixed grill and said everything was cooked to perfection; we had steaks and they were amazing as well. The chimichurri sauce adds a different zing to it. The sides were nothing to write home about ( I would have preferred a baked potato) but hey! We came for the steaks. The atmosphere and the service are nice too, not noisy and the servers are prompt. Park in the hospital parking across the street, have your server stamp your ticket and the parking is free. Very convenient.

We liked Mexican burger and Steak chimichanga, and Poblano Relleno was terrific (it is quite hot), as well as Kids Quesadilla. Pulled Pork Mole was a bit questionable though, I think the mole had a burnt taste mostly and the meat was too dry. They have a decent selection of beers, nothing fancy. However their bar has a variety of mezcals, and some tequilas as well, alongside other liquors.I had Kill Me Softly cocktail and didn't really like it - mezcal felt still too smoky and gave weird artificial taste.

Don Alex is an unassuming Peruvian chicken restaurant in Rego Park, Queens. White tablecloths and an elegant setting await diners but the real treat here is the chicken...it's perfection. Marinated in spices and rotisserie roasted to perfection, this chicken is an elevated expression of a modest bird. Paired with the green sauce, it's an instant classic. Sides are good too especially the salad...and the odd (yet good) French fries with cut up hot dog. If you're in the area, DO stop in. Oh, and they deliver too.

The natural orange juice is delicious and so are the empanadas. They have a variety of flavors to choose from. The downside is that they are a bit pricy and had items listed in their menu which they did not have at the cafe. Other than that, it was a great experience.

Was very impressed how good the good was. My daughter had the chicaron de pollo and she usually doesn't eat that but she loved it. Very friendly and attentive staff. Very clean and nice environment inside. Food is great. Only complaint is they only take cash

My entire dining experience was fantastic! The ambiance to the excellent customer service & scrumptious food I must say this restaurant is A1. Our server Diego was truly the personification of class & professionalism, nothing was to big a task and his dining choices were on point! I had the red snapper which was nothing short of delicious along with the turmeric rice and black beans, I also tried the steak which was . Would I return definitely, would I recommend ABSOLUTELY!!
