Las Pupusas del Itacate has a 22 year history serving the tastiest Pupusas in the region. Our restaurant was originally established in 1995 in La Riberena, Reynosa, and since September 2017 we are serving the Rio Grande Valley. Come try our variety of Pup
The interior is very inviting and pleasant, but it is the food that you are going there for. The main Salvadoran entree is the Pupusas. Pupusas are similar to Gorditas. The best way to get a taste of what the restaurant has to offer is to get the Acatate Plate. You get a Pupusa, a Gordita, a Taco Lloraras, and a Taco Plancha for $9.49. Once you've tried this you can try other things on the menu or order this again. They also have a lunch special the includes 1 Pupusa, your choice of two other items and a drink for $8.99. You can go to their website and view the whole Menu. The Menu is in English, but most of the rest of the website is in Spanish. There are good pictures on the menu so you can see what the food looks like. Try the food I think you will like it. If you are looking for vegetarian items you should be able to find something you would like.

These tacos are what your typical Mexican street tacos should be. Don't come in expecting anything else. I came here and I tried the tacos mixtos (bistec and tripa) and the papa asada. Both were super filling and I was not able to finish both and I am a pretty big eater. I will definitely try and come back again.
Walking into a Mexican restaurant where all the patrons are families dressed and coming back from church takes me back to little Mexican dinners in Mexico. There is that noise from kids laughing and parents talking. When I hear and feel that, i know the food is going to be good!No alcohol here only Coke and Jarritos drinks. Homemade tortilla chips served with a pico de gallo and a green avocado/tomatillo warm sauce (not hot). Next up is a cup of homemade bean soup and then whatever you order off of the menu. I will be going back there on this one week trip...

Best fajita and chicken botanas in area. Also has A very good breakfast buffet.fajitas are very tender and the tortillas, flour or corn are homemade, not from a package. Waiters were very attentive and accessible at all times. Good price, you get your money's worth. Will definitely recommend this place.

I meant, we order the stake plate, the meat and beans were fine, the rice and guacamole not that good The corn tortillas are just made and good, but the flour tortilla is taste less and hard as soon as it gets cold For a fast mexican restaurant, itâs just ok Thank you for sharing your feedback on your experience at our restaurant. We have taken note of your comments, and are working hard to make sure that your next visit is one of a better impression. We hope to have the chance to better serve you.

Don Pepe's Mexican Restaurant & Catering is a fine dining experience. We're McAllen's home for great Mexican food! Servicing for more than 25 years, we offer a full service atmosphere, perfect for your early morning breakfast meeting, a sit down dinner fo
Nice facility with good waitstaff but service was a little slow. Seems to be over-priced for the meals that were served. The "enchiladas ala chipolte" lacked flavor but had plenty of chicken in them. The "Camarones a la Rebecca" had good sized shrimp but the bacon was way undercooked, almost to the point of being raw.

4/13/19@ 1430. Don't let the one and two star reviews dissuade you. Those reviews are for the old restaurant (about 400 ft South of current location). This restaurant is newer, only about nine months old. The food is some of the best in the valley, the service is second to none and this establishment is very clean. If you don't give this place a try, you are only cheating yourself!! We had to wait for a parking spot at 2:30 in the afternoon....it's that good!!

When we walked in it smelled great and service was very friendly and prompt. The 3 sauces for the chips were great. The chimichurro sauce was their house favorite. Lots of garlic and spice. The chicken cauldo was good especially after we added some chimichurro, then it was super. I had the shrimp nachos ( canât remember the name on the menu. It was excellent, my husband had enchiladas and chili relleno. He said it was good but nothing special. As the meal went on the service faltered and we sat for over 10 mins waiting for the check after the plates had been removed. All and all though we did enjoy it and would go back.

In my opinion this is probably the best restaurant in McAllen. My wife and I recently were in McAllen and ate there twice. The ambiance and decor is kind of Texas and Southwest in style, really nicely done. They have a huge selection of wine (if youâre a wine drinker). They also have Happy Hour wine from 4:00 to 7:00 with house wine for $5 a glass. I tried the Barramundi filet, the crab cakes, and the tenderloin shish-kabobs. It was all great, but Iâve got to say that the tenderloin was amazing. Plenty of steak, that literally, I could cut with my fork, it came with scalloped potatoes and lots of mixed vegetables on a huge plate, all for $20. I canât get a steak that good for only $20 anywhere north of the Rio Grande Valley. The service was excellent as well. Last word, ask them about their own creation, a dessert that looks like a taco but is to die for. Seriously, youâre gonna want to try it! Great place for dinner! Highly recommend it!
