We stayed in Palenque for two nights on our way through Mexico. There's a bunch of restaurants in town. This one's right a the main drag next to the ADO Bus station, so it's hard to miss. There's all the typical mexican meals on the menu. For a starter we had some Guacamole. For the main we chose the chicken Tacos and the Pulpo with sides. And beer...they unfortunately almost didn't have any ice (and the fridge didn't work well we've been told). Well, better warm beer than none. The food was very average. The Guacamole was alright. The Tacos really really bland (even with the extras sauces). The Pulpo was just ok, but not really on the freshest side and quite a bit chewy. We've had lots of authentic mexican food througout our 5 week trip. Some bad ones, some really great ones...and then a bunch that was just so average. And this place is one of them. It's cheap and alright enough to fill your stomach. But it's nothing more than that.Palenque in general has quite a food problem. We tried out three, four places. And we had the impression that none of them does a really good job at it. But this town is about the ruins and not the food anyway.Wanna know more about my trips? Check my profile (where you'll also find my website with more info about my travels).

This restaurant is completely oriented towards bus tours. When we arrived at the restaurant, we received a lukewarm greeting and were told we couldn't sit at the pre-set tables. This was okay with us except it wasn't until our meals arrived that they actually set the tables. The food is nothing special and certainly not up to the prices. The worst part was the horrible service. It was unfriendly and after a bus tour came in, we were completely ignored. To finish things off on a bad note, we had to ask for the bill four times and when we tried to pay with credit card it was at that point they told us the machine wasn't working and we could only pay by cash. A terrible night out on holidays - we do NOT recommend this restaurant.

we had lunch here after a visit to Palenque park; the place is near by. Food was quite good albeit a bit on the salty side. We had soup, chicken with tortillas and really excellent dessert that was like a bread pudding.

Beautiful upstairs mezzanine restaurant space for a fresh and delicious meal. The staff are super friendly and helpful and spoke enough English to compensate for our broken Spanish. Our meals were so fresh and delicious - I loved my choice of chaya and mushroom chilaquiles. The range of drinks is also amazing - highly recommend the horchata. I had cafe horchata (shot of espresso) and it was the best.

We were GRANDPAcking in El Panchan for 7 days.We ate most of our breakfasts at Chely's.They advertise 50% off Breakfasts ... the reality is that at full price they would be more expensive than Don Muchos (next door) - at 50% off, they are just a bit cheaper.Don Muchos is a nicer restaurant so Chely's should be doing 50% as their standard price!Having said that, they had a couple of good breakfasts on the menu at 50%.Their coffee was so weak and watery that we would eat breakfast at Chely's and, then, pop around to Don Muchos for coffee :-)Hello,Scambled eggs with beanes, rice ot toast for 15 Pesos. You even won't find this in any other restaurant for 30...Sorry for the coffee - our espresso machine is from time to time a real diva - we're working on it ;)

Best food, great service, local prices and easy to park. This place was the only reason for venturing in the centre of Palenque Town.

We spent 12 days in Mexico in January-February 2019. This was one of the best restaurants that we ate at. I had the shrimp tacos and my wife had the sea bass. The ingredients were fresh and the preparation was perfect and - according to our local guide - authentic to the region.
