La tradicion de comer rico y sano. The best ecuadorian food.
Fritadas AmazonasIt is an exceptional place to visit, the interior is very pleasant spacious especially the comfort of the chairs, has a typical and familiar atmosphere, ideal to go with family friends or co-workers, offering a little varied menu (fries, typical dish Of the Ecuadorian sierra that consists of pig meat, steamed potatoes, mote type corn and roasted) but of a very good flavor. The service is very good, the weekends are usually very crowded, they do not have craft beer but if chicha is very rich by the way, the prices seem to me not very expensive. We went with the family back from Ibarra to San Lorenzo and we were all satisfied. The meat is very well prepared and the various companions were very good, they have a rich seasoning for the pieces of pork with good corn cobs a rich chili and a shale fresh cow's milk cheese a formidable attention. An excellent place to eat and relax with family, if you visit Ibarra do not miss going to this place, you will be completely satisfied and looking forward to returning to this place.
We care about providing an excellent service identifying your needs and satisfying them proactively. In a comfortable place, a quiet environment and with the best view to one of the most touristic areas otavalo
I don't usually review unless I find somewhere exceptional so that is the reason I feel compelled to "gush" about 4 month open Lady Blue found on the side road off the northeast corner of Plaza de Ponchas in Otavalo. Up on the 2nd floor, it overlooks the market with lovely views of the volcanoes in the background. Spotlessly clean & very modern with tables, chairs & even the bar, made with wooden skids & decorated with twinkling lights & old black & white photos hung on bulldog clips. Comfy cushions & free Wi-Fi compel me to stay longer & no one is pushed to leave even though most tables are occupied by locals & visitors alike. Many places offer a set menu for $2-$3 but at the Lady Blue, the menu changes daily with appetizers like stuffed crepe, spring roll, always followed by a delicious big bowl of soup, choose from 3 or 4 entrees all beautifully served on modern white china. 1 day I had pork slice with hearts of palm sauce, rice, red cabbage salad, fries & broccoli with a garlic sauce. A large glass of fresh juice & dessert served in a Martini glass completes every meal...for $2.50. Andres, the young owner is the nicest young man, speaks excellent English, answers all our questions with a smile & even tried to refuse a tip! You could eat in the washroom they are so clean & there is soap & towels to wash up (not always the case in Ecuador). I'm very happy to have found a place I will definitely be taking friends & family when I return to retire in 2019.

We have organic food, if you are vegetarian there is a lot of diversity for you too. The typical Ecuadorian food is our specialty at an excellent price. We also serve desserts, smoothies, fruit juices, a la carte dishes and prepare all kinds of food in th
Alongside a fairly busy road in Otavalo this brightly fronted restaurant might be easy to overlook - but that would be great mistake! Firstly, and what I appreciated most, is the incredible hospitality of the family who run this restaurant. They are all smiles and enthusiasm, willing to help me practice my Spanish and practice their English while guiding me through their menu. Then the food, which is all tirelessly prepared fresh by the family on the day, there is a good range at good prices. Overall, definitely worth a stop to round off a day of haggling at the market - and say hola from Peter!

Following a long bus ride we happened upon this charming restaurant. We had a large salad, simple but fresh and safe to eat, some guacamole and chips and a sandwish. Everytging was tasty, nothing fancy. The servive was outstanding and the decor of the restaurant absolutely lovely.

On my first two visits I thoroughly enjoyed my meals - delicious combination plates with some of the tastiest guacamole. In fact, the food was so good, I make the trip from Ibarra to Otavalo specifically to eat here. This time, I wasnât as enamored with the food. I had a combination plate (half chicken, half beef). The beef was dry and tough; the chicken was good until I bit into several small pieces of bone! The guacamole was still very good. Service was (and always has been) very friendly with English spoken. Prices are quite reasonable.

We are facing the Plaza de los Ponchos on the second floor, perfect for admiring the handicraft market, we have a balcony to take pictures and enjoy a coffee exelentes outdoor
Balcon de Imbabura is located at the Plaza de Ponchos. From the second floor it overlooks the plaza. This small restaurant serves Mexican style food at reasonable prices. We started with the nachos con carne and had burritos that were good. The pork ribs/ chop were just pork smothered in BBQ sauce and not great. The service was good and the food was alright. I'd give Balcon de Imbabura a solid "Good". The location is perfect after a busy time shopping, but there are better restaurants a little further away from the Plaza.

A very decent and beautiful restaurant (in terms of exterior, interior, atmosphere and location). Took a taxi for USD5 from Otavalo city centre. Setting is so nice next to the lake, with swings and a small piece of grassland with alpacas nearby. The food is traditional Ecuador. But I didn't fine food yummy here. I ordered a chef traditional mix with chicken. It looks good but not tasty at all. The chicken cubes are chewy and dry. Overall once is enough, just for the views. I gave 4 rating basically for the atmosphere.
