With no time to cook Friday, we stopped into LaNortena Mexican Rest. for dinner. Everyone greets you and promptly takes your drink orders, while bringing out complimentary chips and salsa. On this night, my wife had chicken quesadillas with a salad, while i had seafood and steak combo fajitas. Mine came with charro beans and a salad. The beverages were in large chilled, frosty mugs. The service, on this night by Carlos, was greatly attentive and helpful. Others stopped by the table including the owner, Luis, to be sure all was well. Edgar, the bartender, was having a birthday and shared his cake with us. I almost feel like Norm in "Cheers". They try hard and it shows.

Menu is not what we expected but it did not disappoint! We had margaritas, chips and quesco while we waited for our food. The restaurant was very busy as it was Friday night but the waitress was very good. I had pork tacos and they were excellent, best that I have had here in Charleston. My husband had a Mexican type sandwich and he loved it. Highly recommend this hole in the wall off the beaten path restaurant.

There was nothing particularly noteworthy about the place, but the food was good, it was reasonably priced, and it was delivered in a reasonable period of time. The service was cheerful and friendly and we had no complaints so I would absolutely go back without hesitation.
