This unassunimg restaurant delivers delicious Nicaraguan authentic dishes in a casual atmosphere. Coming into the restaurant you literally walk through the cooking areas and can see your bean soup ( a specialty here) over a real fire and the working kitchen. We had bean soups and Carne en Vaho and they were all delicious. To top it off the beer was super ice cold. The tortillas were amazing too. A great place to get your Nicaraguan authentic experience. There were all locals there, we were the only tourists. Everything was reasonably priced too. Come as you are and expect good food in a super casual atmosphere. 10/10 Recommended.

The title is true. I've traveled all over South America and this place contained a wonderful surprise. The best ceviche I've had in all south america. There were a couple places that had some great ceviche but there's was superb. The service was friendly, the costs were incredibly reasonable and the ambiance is beautiful. Try and get a table in the promenade outside. Final thoughts: I stumbled upon this place by accident really and I'm so glad I did. If I'm ever back in that area I would absolutely get back here for that ceviche again.

Since 1989 Casa Vieja León has been a local tradition in Leon, Nicaragua. Casa Vieja is own it and run it by a local nicaraguan family. Our restaurant offers you delicious and fresh juices and meals. Our Lemonade is our signature try it with a bit of mint
A nice and rustic interior, more than decent food and a sympathetic staff. But the reason why I write this is to spread the word on the "Limonada Casa Vieja". I guess it's quite simply a lemonade with additional mint herbs, tastes something like a non-alcohol mojito. And it's just really really fresh and good. Probably the only time I write a review based solely on a lemonade. But it's worth it.

Typical is chicken, pork, or beef with salad and 2 sides. They have a few add-ons but not many, nor should they. It's a simple meal where you don't have to flip through 20 pages to pick something. Meal is $2 or $3 with a drink. I've probably ate here 20 times and will return next time I'm in Leon.

Had read great reviews about the food and especially the cocktails. I had the chicken quesadilla and a whiskey orange pineapple cocktail. The quesadilla was fine and came out pretty quickly, but the cocktail tasted like pineapple juice - there was no cocktail aspect to it all. Overall disappointed after reading the other reviews.
