The best Mexican food restaurant.
Went a couple of nights ago with my husband since we had driven by and wanted to try it next time we were in town. First thing we were told was they didnât have guacamole because they couldnât find avocados (hard to believe since that morning we passed a truck full of them and I buy them every week, just bought 3 ripe ones yesterday). So I ordered the baked chicken nachos and my husband got the vegetable burrito ( heâs diet is plant based and there were almost no vegetarian options). Fifteen minutes later our clueless waiter (he was new and in training, we were told), brings us a beef burrito. After we explained thatâs not what we ordered, he took it away, and a few minutes later we got the vegetable burrito (which was open ended on both sides, canât they get bigger tortillas that can be folded?) and the chicken baked nachos. While the chips on the nachos were nice and crispy and the shredded chicken had great flavor the cheese was kind of weird, it didnât melt right and tasted strange (like a not so good queso de hoja). The cheese to chicken to chip ratio was really off ( I ran out of chips and still had a huge clump of cheese and chicken) and there was merely a whisper of refried beans on the nachos. We had to order a side of beans for the nachos and for my husband to put on his vegetable burrito since it only had peppers and onions, basically. Why canât we find a good Mexican restaurant in this country? Is it that difficult to import Mexican cheese?
