On our way back to Massachusetts our group of nine was desperately searching for some authentic Mexican tacos. We were skeptical when we saw the previous review that claimed this restaurant had the best Mexican food in New London so we had to try it. We were not disappointed, our group couldnât stop raving about how flavorful the meat was in both the tacos and fajitas. The carne asada, the sopas, were also delicious. The service was fantastic and the food came incredibly fast which was very appreciated because we were starving. Our group is already making plans to make the two and a half hour drive to return and try other menu items because the other options looked just as appealing.

Looking for a walkable lunch spot from the harbor, we took a risk, since no menu was posted in the window, and we weren't sure what to expect. We were a bit early for Saturday lunch... the place was empty, which always makes me uneasy. But we were greeted and subsequently charmed by Ambiorix, a member of the family that owns / runs this place. We ate out on the back terrace, an interestingly slightly gritty, slightly urban spot overlooking the train line and the harbor. We ordered two different versions of Mofongo, which I'd never heard of before : fried plantain mashed and formed into bowls, filled with various fillings, in our cases, a seafood medley stew, and garlic shrimp. FYI: The plaintain is quite bland... I very rarely add salt, but I did here, but I nonetheless enjoyed the food. We were informed that while not on the menu, we could also request casava-based bowls, which we plan to try in future. We eat out to experience something different than what we would cook at home, and we were not disappointed. But I also have the thank Ambiorix, who elevated a meal to a highly memorable experience.

Been to many Peruvian restaurants...this one is really good. Restaurant is comfortable and attractively decorated - don't expect 5 star ambience and cuisine. Do expect a great meal with very friendly, attentive service. Menu fully explains, with photographs, each selection. The ones we had - Papa Relleno with creole salad, Lomo Saltado, plantains and a bowl of beans were all delicious. Good size portions; reasonable prices. Can't wait to return to try some other offerings.
