We visited this restaurant on Trip Advisors review. Stood inside the restaurant for a few minutes and saw very few eating. There was someone ahead of us waiting. No host. A waiter acknowledged us. More people arrived and we stood there. Also the restaurant was very dark; hard for me to see. We gave up and left.As we stood there discussing where to go another patron left the restaurant complaining of the service. The food, they said, was OK but was not worth the poor service. They decided to continue their dinner somewhere else.

We visited this restaurant as part of a tour from Mazatlan, Our meals were per-ordered but were fantastic. The service was friendly and good. This establishment was very popular with the local an a Friday afternoon. I have a dietary concern and the staff here was very accommodating to make sure my needs were met. We would recommend this restaurant to any traveler.

El Zocabon is a great Mexican restaurante only a few steps from the central plazuela, Plaza de Armas, in Durango, Mexico. We had 2 breakfasts there and 2 dinners, all very good. The place is very clean, the staff friendly and efficient. We tried the comida del dia the second day and found everything excellent, the soup was great, my husband had fish which he said was better than the fish he had had in Mazatlan, the quantities were very generous, and the price was right. If you happen to like tequila, try the Mezcal - Agave Duranguensis, very smooth. The owner told us he had had it specially distilled for him and it had been aged in oak barrels for over 4 years. We will definitely eat there the next time we go back to Durango.
PedÃ, un taco de pescado, vampiro de azada, tostada de ceviche de pescado y camarón, asà como una campechana, naranjada y todo estuvo en tiempo, proporciones, sabores y amabilidad destacables!
