They're known for their chicken, hence the name. If you're ordering the chicken with sides, I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND the rice. It's not normal bland rice. It's soft with a hint of garlic. It's amazing! You can't go wrong with the chicken. I've had it a few times before and it's always VERY good, juicy..especially the dark meat. Make sure to also get the green sauces to dip it in (chimichurri - oil looking one with bits of parsley and aji sauce - creamy light green sauce). There's a red sauce also but I like the greens better. Also delicious is the tallarin verde con bistek. It's green spaghetti with steak and it's pretty good. I like to add the green sauces to it for extra deliciousness. If dining in, order at the register first then find a seat. If ordering for take out, highly recommend to call ahead: 626-331-8090Parking is easy. They're in a strip mall and there's plenty of parking. This restaurant is in the same plaza as Subway and across the street from Norms. Can't miss it.
We came here because we were staying nearby and wanted some good, authentic Mexican food. We were not disappointed and soon learned that this restaurant has actually been around for decades, originally located by the Eastland shopping center. Service started off slow but was quite friendly and helpful. The menu is very extensive. Portions are large and very tasty. Drinks are good too! Towards the end, a large party arrived so things got noisy and service slowed but overall we had a very nice experience. We would definitely come here again.

Three of us had dinner here. The food was pretty good, not exceptional. The space was nice and I liked the casual atmosphere. The chips and salsa were better than most. Prices of food were reasonable. I thought drinks were a little high. Service was good.

Waitress brought us crunchy, roasted corn nibbles & free samples of interesting Peruvian drinks: Purple corn juice with spices!! & passion fruit juice. The grilled baby octopus was delicious. The roasted yucca with cheese dip was tasty! Chicken, limas & rice dish was in fabulous garlicky sauce.

Iâve been going to Fondaâs since they opened. My grandparents love this place. My girlfriends parents love this place. I love this place! The first thing I tried here was their Birria with some corn tortillas. Nice juicy tender meat that falls apart without difficulty. I occasionally stop by for their brunch but for the past 2 years Iâve been getting the carne asada molcajete with a side of rice and beans and corn tortillas. The molcajete comes with nopales (cactus), queso (cheese), jalapeños (you know.. that spicy chili), avocado, and carne asada (flank steak) all inside of a tomato based sauce. It comes with enough food for 2 people and it costs about $20 so itâs perfect for a small couples trip. If youâre ever in the San Gabriel valley or feel like tasting some good Mexican food then you need to make a trip to Fondaâs!
