My wife and I visited Cilantro Mexican Grill in downtown Bryan for dinner. The service was very attentive and friendly and our food was delicious. On this visit, though, we noticed a departure by the staff of the music played over the sound system - it was too loud and frenetic and not conducive to a quiet dining experience. We hope this was an anomaly and that it will not be experienced on future visits.
Not sure why we ate such a late breakfast when tailgating awaits... but we did, and it was great. They serve breakfast until 11. Breakfast was tasty, and very affordable. Special kudos for very flavorful salsa, yet mild enough any Texan could eat it. The tortilla for burritos had just the right hint of elasticity. Unfortunately- we'd already dug in by the time I got pictures so look at them with understanding get that we'd already attacked.

Periodically I attend a luncheon meeting at Restaurant San Jose, and I always look forward to it, not necessarily for the meeting but for the delicious food and attentive service. My most recent visit was a satisfying dining experience. This family operated restaurant, located in downtown Bryan, serves authentic Mexican food.
Where to eat Southwestern food in Bryan: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Raspas El Payasito offers some of the most authentic Mexican food in Bryan. All of their tacos are loaded. I especially enjoy the Chicharron and pastor. Their tortas are enormous too. 1 is more than enough. My favorite is the milanesa. I have never had a raspa here, but a number of my friends get them on a regular basis and love them. Fresh, great flavor. Plus, everyone at Raspas El Payasito is very friendly. If your looking for authentic Mexican food, you should stop by.
