Restaurant and Bar situated in the beautiful surroundings of the Finca Agroecologica in Bijagua, northern Costa Rica. Offering a wide selection of home-made dishes using local and organic home-grown ingredients. Open from 12pm until 11pm tuesday-sunday.
This restaurant is connected to the Finca Verde Lodge. It was advised to us as a bit more upscale eatery in Bijagua. Well, I would agree and disagree. Service is not an exemption compared to other places around the country. The area is nice but you appreciate it more during daylight. At night it is a wooden, covered area with nothing special. In fact, we returned a couple of days for a drink and to admire their butterfly garden. The food is good with local dishes with an Western touch. But also nothing outstanding in terms of choice, preparation or presentation. It is not overly expensive but we have eaten at nicer places with a bit more atmosphere in town.

We went for a casados typical lunch and noticed everyone else ordering corn pancakes made out of fresh corn. Sweet or savory. We came back a second day for them after hiking and with a cup of coffee, it was a great snack. Fantastic treat. Cars piled up three deep on a Sunday afternoon, for a good reason.
Many places say farm to table. Here, they mean it. Everything we were served besides the beef and fish came directly from their farm, and tasted like it. All served in a stunning dining area. Best chicken and mushrooms Ive ever tasted. On top of this, the chef / owner is a french chef, who moved here and bought this farm. Oh, and the meal was $40 per person including 2 bottles of good wine. I believe they are only open by reservation and you may have to email, but if you are in North Central Costa Rica this is an experience you don't want to miss. They also have a beautiful guesthouse that they rent, making this a great stopover for many routes.

The design on wood highlights the rustic stile of the restaurant, giving also an elegant style. We offer a wide menu which includes typical dishes, salads, pastas, meats and home specialties . You can enjoy smoked meats and fish but also firewood food , d
The chef is a lovely woman, who kindly went way overboard to make sure we enjoyed everything. The free breakfast was very good, but the steak and italian food were stars. She gave us a special coffee to go for fishing and then cooked our fish for lunch when we got back. It was perfect. i would go back there for sure.Hello,Thank you so much for your lovely comment, I am so happy that you really value the effort we made to give just delicious and fresh food. It´s always a pleasure to help our customer. We will be waiting for you then.Patricia (Chef)
