Fonda San Miguel is one of those magical old school Austin places. The interior reminds me of some of my favorite places in Mexico City. Happy hour is the perfect opportunity to explore the menu and taste multiple items. Also, their cocktails are unique and always Mexican inspired. Be patient as there are a lot of people that love their happy hour. Know youâll probably have to go to the bar, grab a drink and wait it out. But itâs worth it.

We chose El Alma randomly because it had a rooftop patio. We had to wait nearly an hour but weren't in a hurry so it didn't really matter. We were able to sit on the multi-level rooftop patio and really enjoyed the view of the Austin skyline, good food and good drinks. Our waiter seemed annoyed to be there but maybe he'd had a bad day. It didn't keep us from having fun.
