KYOTO Day 2 : Arashiyama (嵐山), a pleasant, touristy district in the western outskirts of Kyoto ..We get a scenic tour of this quaint township .. We started off at the Togetsukyo Bridge, Arashiyama's well known, iconic landmark .. The Togetsukyo Bridge ("Moon Crossing Bridge") was originally built during the Heian Period (794-1185) & reconstructed in the 1930s .. The Bridge is a long stretch to the other side & is set agst a backdrop of the beautiful mountains on the southern bank of the river ... We also catch a glimpse of several bldgs preserved in the style of the Meiji Period (1868-1912) .. Many of which were traditional machiya ("town houses") tt served as private residences but hv since been converted into shops and restaurant .. wish we had more time to indulge in them ... then again, a good reason for a come bk trip ...

親戚一同２０名で会食をした。皆初めて来た人ばかり、たたずまいに感嘆し、内側のつくりや内装に感動、料理の味に感激、更に超美人女将の笑い上戸に感染し、楽しいひと時に感謝した。なんでも、市だか県だかの文化遺産登録の候補とか。

The friendly staff convinced us to stay for a meal late on a rainy Friday night. We are so glad that they did! Each dish placed before us was better than the one before. The chef was unbelievable. We later find that he had trained in Spain. This was an AWESOME dinning experience for very little money.

平日ランチ１２０円ですが、およそ、米子の魚のレベルではない寿司が、回っています。大都会の回転寿司の悪い品質レベルと考えればよいでしょう。全ての寿司に、透明カバーがかけられているのですが、清掃していないのか、寿司が良く見えません。不潔感さえ漂っています。また、流れていない商品を注文しても、間違える、客を忘れる、注文を忘れる等、接客業として基本がなっていません。わさびに至っては、板前にオーダーするという初めての経験をしました。通常、回転コーナーで回すか、テーブルに置いて置くのが普通と思います。わさびも粉わさびを練ったもので、今どきこんなスーパーの寿司に使うようなわさびを回転すし店で使っていることに驚愕しました。皆さんの口コミとは、かけ離れた内容でした。ランチ途中で退席しました。

お昼のランチで個人利用しました。団体客が入っているようでその対応に少しドタバタされてました。まるごと安来丼というかドジョウが入って地元の食材が入ったあんかけのどんぶり。ただ正直あまり満足感のあるものではなく残念でした。

This was the best sushi I had in Japan. Carefully prepared and presented. Very fresh. All very formal and serious but very friendly too. Really enjoyed the experience.

　清水寺の敷地内にある旅館です。宿泊者以外でも食事を食べられました。出雲そばや精進料理がありました。精進料理は2160円からありました。イカに似せた刺身、蒲焼き、山菜の煮物、ごま豆腐、茶碗蒸しなどボリュームがありました。

今年デビューした「安来ドジョウ寿司」なるものを食べてみるかと訪れた。場所的には、交通の便が悪く、米子駅からタクシーに乗った〈約１２００円〉。「道の駅あらエッサ」と同じ敷地内にある一般の民家風のレストラン。予約のドジヨウ寿司を注文〈１５００円〉。ドジョウを開いて寿司状にしたものを想定していたが、酢飯にドジョウが入っていたり、載せられていたりといった類いの言わば寿司が三段に並べられていて、見栄えが良い。味も普通の寿司と変わりない。ドジョウ鍋も付いていた。ドジョウ寿司以外にも、ドジョウ関連のメニューは豊富にあった。

地元に根付いた手打ちそばのお店です。テーブル席と座敷があります。二八蕎麦でコシがあり、噛みごたえの美味しい蕎麦です。お勧めは、白イカの天ぷらのかき揚げが美味しい釜揚げ蕎麦です。

ランチも提供している人気居酒屋。ランチはハーフパイキング方式、生野菜やフルーツ、冷や奴、カボチャ煮などがバイキングメニューとなっていて、これを食べているうちに、メイン料理が登場する。チキンカツ定食、あら煮定食を食べたが、どちらもたっぷりの量だ。
