Reviews on Japanese food in Wahiawa, Hawaii, United States. Wahiawa (Hawaiian: Wahiawā) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Honolulu County, Hawaii, United States, on the island of Oahu. It is located in the Wahiawa District, on the plateau or "central valley" between the two volcanic mountains that comprise the island. In Hawaiian, wahi a wā means "place of noise", perhaps a reference to the fact that heavy surf on the North Shore could be heard from here, or to the sounds of the ancient military training exercises conducted on these plains. The population was 17,821 at the 2010 census.

Voted one of Oahu's best by Honolulu Star Advertiser 7 consecutive years, BANZAI Sushi Bar is truly one of Haleiwa's best kept secrets. Tucked away in a back corner of the North Shore Marketplace, casual fine dinning, outdoor covered seating with Japanese
Might be the best sushi or poke on the island of Oahu. If you are not into raw fish they also have other dishes. Seating is either Japanese style, cushions on the floor or at tables. The service was excellent. Nice drive to get there up the North Shore.

This was the place to go... Everyone knows about Dot's in Wahiawa. Their catering for all kinds of parties and events is still a fan favorite. The restaurant on the other hand has not changed that much. Their mainstay specialty was the miso-butterfish entree. The atmosphere is dark and outdated. They need to renovate, and revitalize their menu. It's old and fairly unchanged. The service is quite average as well as the food...

On a drive from Waikiki to North Shore last week, we stopped to explore the neighborhoods of Mililani and found Nagoya Ramen & Bakery tucked inside a strip mall. Their baked goods looked wonderful, but we were hankering for an authentic Ramen set for lunch and they did not dissapoint. The chicken Katsu and pork Gyoza were both excellent. The shoyu stock was flavorful, ramen noodles al dente. The ramen toppings were average: A hard boiled egg instead of soft and the sliced pork was okay. All in all, an excellent food adventure and it was nice to get away from the crowds in Waikiki and experience a local's favorite. The prices were very cheap. We treated ourselves afterward to a shaved ice two stores down.
Fast casual Hawaiian style create your own poke bowls, sushi bowls, salads & more. Located inside the Scoop of Paradise Ice Cream Factory building. Next door to Paalaa Kai Bakery in Waialua, Hawaii on the North Shore of Oahu.
Whether you are a local or a visitor, you will be amazed by the quality and size of these unbelievably Ono poke bowls. Sushi rice at the bottom, shredded daikon, and the best crab salad I have had accompany your choice of poke. You get to choose two proteinsâI had limu poke and shoyu furikake salmonâbut I also loved the spicy shrimp (the owner was so nice he later brought me out a small portion of the shrimp just because I loved it so much). Then you get to choose vegetable sidesâso much to chose from and all fresh! Cucumber, namasu, cherry tomatoes, edamame, kimchee, ocean salad, avocado ($1 more). Because this place goes for broke, you then can add nori, furikake, or another choice. All of this deliciously fresh bowl for $13! Go with an appetite âcuz this bowl is so filling youâre not going have room for dinner later. I am a local who moved away and when I come back I seek out the new and the best. This little hidden g m is worth the drive! Got to go check it out-you will be so glad and eating a poke bowl wonât be the same again!
