Walked into this restaurant after our stroll along lake Toya to have lunch. Their udon had a chewy texture and the curry katsu rice was flavorful. If visiting in the winter and you would like a dessert that can warm you up, do try their warm soup with rice cake. There is a tinge of nuts and when eaten with the rice cakes, the blend of the soup with rice cakes does wonders.The cold soup with rice cakes and red bean is also a must try.

Its located just across from the Toya Onsen Bus Terminal. It was closed on 2 evenings but we were happy to find it open for an early lunch (11.15am) just before we had to leave. Simple, yummy food, especially nice on a rainy afternoon.

Lower Hirafu location in a small what appears to be plywood structure. Don't be fooled, have a reservation if during peak snow season and enjoy the quaint, intimate setting. Pub food with a few select variations such as the venison when we were there. Prices are reasonable, service OK, not much English, but you can get by with just a little Japanese.Good fare in the lower Hirafu area, after a hard day on the slopes, and a visit at the Yokoro Onsen, Nagomi hits the spot!

this restaurant in the windsor hotel offer lots of different japanese food, but more interesting the the charcoal grill. the chicken or yaki tori is not bad and the sake selection is pretty good, but everything is quite pricey.
