It looks like a dive, but it was quite good. I had the sushi and it was quite fresh. Other's I dined with had the hibachi and it look awesome. Little bummed I didn't get that. but it's ok next time.
My husband is in culinary school and was recommended to try Sushi Aka. Itâs a 30 minute drive for us from Chesapeake and well worth it.The menu is original. Love the ambiance. The freshest sushi Iâve had in the area. The coconut curry rice and rockfish main entree was amazing. My husband had the assorted raw fish bowl and loved it. The best was the strawberry napoleon wonton for dessert. We canât wait to go back.

I've dined in and had takeout. The food is good and the price is about average for Japanese cuisine. I've eaten there a quite a few times when I've been in town.

Good Asian food - we donât do sushi but the hibachi food was terrific. Had the steak hibachi with fried rice. Situated right next door to the excellent wine shop Great Bottles. Unfortunately the service was slow and the have weird booths.

Sat at the bar and service was a bit slow to begin with (there was no one working at the bar). However, after I was acknowledged the orders were placed, the food came out very fast. Will visit again.

I love both sushi and pho so i was delighted I could get both and both were really good. Didn't have to wait to long, . Only wish I realized I could get both before I got their very good miso soup. Will be back for sure!

Casual Japanese restaurant for hibachi-grilled eats, specialty sushi rolls & exotic cocktails.
Made reservations for 3 for 6:30 on a Saturday. Seated at the hibachi close to 7:00. Drinks, salad, and soup served relatively quickly, but waited 10 more minutes for chef. Compared to the other chefs, ours was subdued. Diners at other stations were clapping to the rhythm of juggled fork and knife, had sake squirted in their mouths, over all just seemed to be entertained more. Rice was served first, but was cold by the time the meat and veggies were piled on. Food was good, but not great. And finally, had to wait 10, 15 minutes for waitress to bring bill.
