A wonderful introduction to what Hokkaido has to offer. Excellent food at a reasonable price. A few options of seating - at the tatami mat, bar stool style or normal table and chairs. Some frozen stuff you can buy to cook along with the road trip, with you are into camping. Try the charashi bowl and veg tempura with squid ramen.. beautiful and tasty moment. caters to a large crowd so be sure to avoid during the peak period.

The 5 different types of sashimi in a bowl with rice was excellent with the freshness of the seafood. The mackerel with rice is also wonderfully grilled. It is one of our very satisfying lunch. Lovely and heavenly.

We drove to the pier, and had to do a double-take. Nestled among the other warehouses, Utoto Fishermans' Wives Co-operative Diner can be easily missed. It is a nice and quaint restaurant that serves that local catches, so you know that the seafood is going to be fresh and tasty. Try whatever is seasonal (we went when it was salmon season so the ikura was lovely), and just enjoy a lovely meal by the pier.

After driving a distance from Mombetsu to Abashiri, Tsuki is a good place for a stop for lunch or so and the food is of good quality. There is a car park outside the restaurant so it's convenient for car travellers. The picture menu is user-friendly for tourists who don't know Japanese. The sushi is fresh and tasty. Besides sushi, other hot dishes are also quite good such as steak.

Our hotel receptionist recommended this restaurant. They serve western and japanese food. I had the pork chop, it was very delicious with Sapporo classic. My wife also enjoyed her Katsu curry and plum wine. My daughter had the tempura set.Service was friendly and fast. The menu was in Japanese with some photos. The reception took her time to explain each beer and wine on the menu to us. The portion was generous and total bill was just about 5500 yen.We were seated in a private cozy room and it was an enjoyable meal.

Due to a scheduling issue, we could not go to Otoro for the Osen and had to stay in Shiretokoshari; this was one of the restaurant recommended by the tourist center, from the exterior, it's probably the most decent looking establishment around the area. Once we entered, we were greeted by a friendly old chef who unfortunately did not speak much English. Unfortunately as well, the menu did not have any English translation however they did have plastic models of their dishes and we used that to order dinner. We ordered their premium sushi and weren't disappointed. Sushi was extremely fresh and we'll balanced, it's designed by the chef to have wasabei inside the sushi so warned if you can't take wasabei. My friend and I agree this is the best sushi we have taken in Japan comparable to the ones we had in Otaru except that the prices here are extremely affordable, for the high quality of the Sushi we had, total bill came up to 3000 Yen for 2 pax, in other tourist establishment, the bill would have come up much more. In summary, if you are in Shiretokoshari and looking for dinner (not sure if they open for lunch); this is the place to go for affordable premium sushi.

Highly Recommended but prices are bit high but of course the ocean's catch of fresh fish, octopus, shrimps & scallops are very fresh. Ordered "kaizen don" meaning different variety of raw roe eggs, crab, shrimps toppings on rice and it cost a hefty 2,100 yen ( about $17)

Nice foods of a good variety from fresh salad, cooked fish, a delicious sashimi, grilled steak and pork shabu-shabu, fruits and sweat dessert were served. The western food was rather scarce; however, a sufficient amount was prepared. I think the taste of rice is a little inferior.

Had shoyu ramen with yakitori while hubby had miso ramen! Good value for money and delightful yakitori. Noodles are a little thinner than usual. My hubby likes it more than me. Will recommend it if you are in the area.
