Find out what Japanese restaurants to try in Sapporo. Probably best known for its eponymous beer, Sapporo—the capital of Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island—has maintained the youthful and open atmosphere of the 1972 Olympic Winter Games, drawing international visitors for its annual Snow Festival and its world-famous ramen. Those seeking out the full diversity of Japanese cuisine will want to visit: a city with a ramen-inspired theme park is one that embraces and pampers foodies.

Up until this point, all the Yakitori joints I had eaten at were small affairs with a grill only large enough to handle a few skewers at once. Kushidori is a serious, large scale operation with a couple of dozen skewers being handled at each grill. The layout around the grill is also well thought out with double seat benches surrounding the grill pit. Fantastic for couples and those who want to see the grilling in action. I would recommend one of these over a table or private booth. The food is tasty and prices are reasonable. Overall a worthwhile change from my seafood diet while visiting Hokkaido.

Super fun ambience, delicious fresh sushi and so reasonably priced. So long as you have a plan as to how you will spend the inevitable waiting time (shopping, going for a beer, sleeping in the queue...) you will not be disappointed. We went twice in two days.

A Restaurant that sell pork meat. Located at the Stellar Place at dining section. The place is relatively small, so don't be surprise to see a long queue during lunch or dinner time. The menu is very simple, just pork meat with rice. However, they offer different type of pork bowl. For Example, if you are meat lover, can order more pork slice with less rice, can order normal rice with more slice of pork meat. If you want to try, maybe you can try to avoid peak hours. However, i order for take away to eat at the hotel for supper

Just delicious ramen, with a very friendly owner. This place is located in Ramen Alley without an English menu, however the owner speaks enough English for you to order (using the vending machine) and the ramen, with meat cooked over coals, is more authentic for it.

This place is a must-visit. I visited the shop thrice and the taste was consistently rich and flavourful. Tourists especially non-Japanese language speakers can still order easily with their English menu and the one taking the orders can speak English as well. Don't be disappointed with the long queue, it just means that the shop has a good reputation locally and in the entire Japan. Worth the wait and the price is just right, even cheaper than those in the ramen alley. Perfect with a side cold beer. Great experience. All-season appropriate!

Great restaurant for sushi lovers! They have an English menu, and some of the staff can speak a little English as well. Easy to find from the station (10 minute walk). Crab paste sushi was delicious, and so was everything else we ordered. Our first conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Hokkaido. Very satisifying experience! Oishi!!

Hokkaido is famous for their seafoods, especially crabs, and this is one of the best Crab Restaurants in Sapporo!! It's great to have a course of King Crabs, Snow Crabs, and Hairy Crabs. These crabs are served in many ways, such as sashimi, grilled, hot pod, tempura, boiled, shabu shabu, and porridge. It is pricey but worthy since the qualities are excellent. Come here if you are in Sapporo!!

Super good oyster with affordable price. Order 10pcs oyster with 150yen each and they give us 5pcs extra for free! Yes we know from online review they used to put in free oyster with every purchase but with 5pcs free is very generous of them! Oysters are big and fresh, no any issue of stomachache the next day. Please note they had already moved from the old location and itâs a little tricky to find the new location.

I have eaten sooo many ramen, but the ramen here are the best in Japan! They are incredibly tasty. We have eaten several variations of ramen in this restaurant, but the cheese ramen (have really a lot of good cheese and deserve this name) and tomato ramen (vegetarian option) are our favourites. The cook is very helpful and kind. He assisted us very professional to find the perfect choice. And the food came very fast.We will be back
