Located just above the Harbour Steamboat Restaurant (both same owner), this restaurant serves interesting Japanese food from the usual ramen, udon, the popular rice sets, fresh sashimi, skewered yakitori & also a number of ala carte dishes. Service could be quite slow during peak hours even when half full but the food is of better quality & taste of compared with many other Japanese outlets in the vicinity. You can also have beers or sake to go along with your meal. Large empty sake bottles are abundantly used in the decor of the place, which gives it a nice ambience. On the whole, there are not many items on their menu but prices are reasonable & food standard is commendable. Good for friends or family.
Second time coming here for lunch, recommend ed by my colleague as saying itâs cheap and good. Service today for lunch (18/7) seem lacking by 3waiters. They feel like Monday blue, no mood to work, so lack of attention even the restaurant wasnât busy at almost 1pm. We had set lunch and ala carte orders. We had:-- Recommended grilled beef medium 120g @ RM29.00. - Sashimi zen @ RM34- Shin salmon zen @ RM 25- Maki zushi zen @ RM23-2 sets of mini Bara tori zen @ RM22 eachWith all set add RM2 for chawanmushi and RM6 for 3 thinly sliced salmonUpgraded a rice for avocado salad for additional RM5.00To be honest portion here are smaller than usual set which I have patronised like Kura @ One Utama or Kimiya @ Avantas. For the price charged, the freshness of the sashimi are really good. This I wonât doubt it. The best for me are the sashimi zen with thickly cut 2 sliced fresh tuna( unlike a lot japanese restaurant or hotel buffet, 2 cuts salmon and 2 cuts of white tuna. Beef came well done and ask them to remake it as requested for medium. Beef was okay, nothing great for the best as itâs not some good meat cut. Personal opinion, would be great to offer free chawanmushi in the set like any other japanese restaurant. Would love to try their main bukit Jalil outlet. Accept cash and credit card
Visited twice for dinner and both times, the service was excellent. Food was fresh. Even the edamame beans were warm and salted! The cuts for sushi were huge slabs. The hot plate beef tasted really tender and succulent. Chawan mushi, tempura, green tea ice cream, wafer ice cream, salmon fish head, shishamo were our favourites too!
