This place is great! No frills, small, and the winter menu is a little small, but everything is cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. We had the pork belly buns, so good we ordered a second round. We had the brussel sprouts and the cauliflower apps - both hit out of the park! We also got two noodle bowls - one chicken and one pork, both amazing. This place is a MUST for anything from a quick bit, date night, to taking the kids (which we had with us). It's BYOB - FYI.

This sushi is fresh. The compsition exquisite in different textures. Everything is better here then other places, from the wasabi, the ginger is fresher and more delicate, the sushi rice is perfect (no sticky stuff here), the composition is perfect. And the two people running the place real Japanese. This is the real deal, handsdown the best Japanese Restaurant in Rhode Island.

I have been going to Tokyo house for many years. I hadnât been for nearly 5 years so I thought I should go back and see if it was still good. I always have sushi (not tepanyaki) and I have to say that it wasnât good, it was bloody excellent! The fish was extremely fresh, the rolls were beautifully assembled, the plate presentation was stunning and all in all it was by far the best sushi and the best eating experience I have had in Newport for a while. The restaurant I agree, itâs a little drab looking, but PLEASE donât let this put you off, if you like sushi this place is a must!On another positive note, the restaurant has been under the same management and ownership for at least 10 years that I know of. The owner, the chefs and the staff are excellent, and they do care about what they serve and how they serve it, unlike other establishments in Newport!I canât wait to go back!
