If you have never had shabu shabu please go out and try it. It is in short healthy japanese fondue. I like going to Shabuway for lunch as it is fast, fresh, filling and not heavy. Lots of fresh veggies, mushrooms, tofu glass noodles and rice. Traditional broth or spicy to your taste and very good lean beef. If beef is not your thing pork lamb shrimp and vegetarian options are available.I try to get here at least once a month. The cost is very reasonable by bay area standards running about $15 for a meal that will leave you pleasantly full.

Tried this place for the first time and really enjoyed it. It's a small restaurant, very cozy. The servers were friendly, the sushi was affordable and larger than the average rolls I've seen. I found the menu to offer a much larger variety than other sushi places in the area. I tried the edamame gyoza roll and it was pretty good. The shrimp tempura roll was massive!

And I thought I didn't like ramen. For many years my experience has been that 13 cent packet of noodles and chicken base. Even when I went to went to "a good place" my experience was the same. Finally a friend of mine convinced me to try what he called "actual ramen" and he backed it with a money back guarantee if I didn't like it my meal was on him. So with nothing to lose I tried it, and I have to say it was good! The ramen was spicy, the pork was tender, and the broth was very flavorful. This place is totally worth going to.

If you like sushi and sashimi, this is your place. However if you also want authentic Japanese (and teriyaki doesn't count), you will discover a whole new world to tantalize your palette. The sea weed is a must-have starter. After that, it is advisable to order different dishes (the portions are small). We had the prawn tempura, duck mango and mustard sauce, kimuchi hot pot and black cod. All the dishes were excellent albeit unusual. The only thing I didn't enjoy but my friend did was the dessert: the strawberry mochi cake is not really a cake but more like a strawberry parfait, very gritty. If you like fine Japanese cuisine, then this is a great place and not very busy.

We used to go to this sushi place ALL the time... weekends we were always there.. Then recently we went in and they've changed their menu. They used to have a wide variety of sushi rolls to choose from and some were very inexpensive. Last time we went in, they kept all the high priced rolls, raised the prices to the special sushi for the night and then cut off people getting Miso Soup when they'd order an appetizer. Like all great sushi places, they changed and started wanting more $$ for their food.. They lost us as customers now that they went up in price..

The restaurant hit the spot on a cold, rainy night. The menu is limited but it has the traditional ramen offerings. It also has Kenny Blankenship/Takeshi's Castle playing on the TV which was quite a surprise for the uninitiated. The restaurant is fairly small with more counter seats than tables. The broth was hearty for a vegetarian soup with a good helping of noodles, bean sprouts, tofu and other vegetables. Some bits wereslightly sweet rather than savory. It was good but not at all the best I've had.

Great vegetarian & vegan options, & they are clearly marked on the menu & known to the staff working. There are regular Japanese items on the menu such as sushi, but some creative items you do not find elsewhere. They have great non-alcoholic drink options as well. Service was really good. Parking is in lots or on the street - the street signs are hard to see & most are 1-2 hour parking only.

We arrived at 5 PM and were seated quickly.... the restaurant was clean with friendly and efficient service. We tried the Dynasty Roll: Shrimp Tempura with Crab, Avocado, Cucumber, Smoked Salmon, Yuzu and Tobiko with a Ponzu sauce. Good taste with a slight crunch. The Shiitake Roll has very good flavor with a nice firmness to the mushroom. The Chicken Sukiyaki has great flavor, not too salty... the yam noodles were perfect. We will return to try other items on their menu.
