We were here with friends and had a delicious healthy lunch. The vegetables were crisp and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The menu has a nice variety of ramen dishes - something for everyone. Service was very good, plenty of roomy & spacious seating. We like that there was plenty of parking on bloomfield ave and in the lot at the back of the restaurant.

I went here today for lunch and was vey surprised at the quality and quantity of sushi and sashimi they served me at a moderate price. This restaurant is tucked up an alley in Upper Montclair, but my gps took me right there with no trouble. Both the sushi and sashimi were very fresh--an absolute necessity--and quickly served. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area and like Japanese food.

The Chicken Teriyaki lunch box was quite tasty, but overloaded with under-cooked edamame. There was more edamame than rice. Shumai (2), soup, salad and California rolls (4) were very good. The wasabi and ginger were very fresh. While very good, I think the Momoya Japanese restaurant, just a half a block away is much better.

I was happy to see a menu with a good number of delicious options. My date and I had a scallop dish and salmon. Both were great. The restaurant is a nice size, especially for its location. The waitstaff were friendly. The food was cooked and seasoned well.

Food is excellent -- particularly the sushi/sashimi, but also the appetizers and kitchen entrees. Everything is tasty and beautifully presented. My one major gripe is the slow service; it shouldn't take a half-hour to get 2 appetizers out on a Sunday night with only 3 tables occupied -- and then another half-hour to get two entrees out. I note similar complaints over an extended period, so this has been a consistent problem that they should work on. One minor gripe is the uncomfortable seating in the booths, which have straight 90-degree backs, like church pews. Next time we'll request a table with regular chairs. So the food itself is delicious, but I hope you're not in a hurry, or really hungry.

We drove to our regular place and found it was closed for good, so we searched and went to Dai-Kichi for the first time based on its online reviews, and we were VERY happy we did. Food was excellent - we had the seaweed salad and sushi-sashimi deluxe for 2 - and the service was outstanding. We had a choice of different sakes; my wife had a hot sake and I had a cold one, and we were both impressed with the quality. The location is right across from a Montclair train station, and also near a local movie theatre. Highly recommended!

I have been coming here whenever I need to drive from East Hanover to Montclair. The staff here seem enthusiastic about giving you a good dining experience. Service is also fast. I had uni sushi (sea urchin) this time. It's market price, but it is sooooo good!

WE LOVE RAMEN. IT'S THAT SIMPLE. Ani Ramen house is recognized for Japanese ramen and delicious izakaya. #SLURPSIPREPEAT
If you walk too quickly along Bloomfield Ave you might miss this cute but tiny restaurant serving a limited but delicious menu based around Ramen noodles. Main courses include about 6 dishes but you can add additional items such as marinated bamboo (recommended) to your bowl. Seating is limited to only about 8 tables but there is a long "communal" table if you don't mind being a little cramped and some tall chairs along the front window as well. Be aware this place is already very popular and on a Thursday night at 5:15pm we got a table fairly quickly. As we were leaving around 6:00pm every table was taken and there was a line out the door about 12 deep. The pork buns (@ $7.00)were tasty and Ajitama (dumplings) extremely good. The Ani Ramen dishes were filling without heaviness.Servers were all accommodating even as they had to rub shoulders with the clientele coming in and leaving. No alcohol and no doggie bags.A good place to chow down
