As of January 1, 2018, Michael Tangney is the acting city manager, a position appointed by the City Council. It has been Democratic for many years.

Authentic Japanese restaurant. In my opinion, best on the South shore. Service is great. Staff even wears kimonos which adds to the experience. Very attentive. Highly recommend it.

When in Long Beach and you are looking for an inexpensive meal, Yummy Yummy is a good place to go. The food is good and the prices are very low. The Spare Ribs were good but the Peking Duck was a rather small portion and had many small and shredded pieces instead of sliced ones. The service was very good and the wait staff was pleasant.

This place has stood the test of time and still comes up with the best sushi around. The service is excellent with two or three experienced servers and in addition to the usual fare found on sushi menus there are always many excellent specials. Jimmy, the host, adds to the experience with his bubbling and friendly welcome.

Everything I have had here has been great. My family and I come in here quite frequently, and have never been disappointed. Fresh sushi with lots of interesting combinations, tasty fried rice & spring rolls, yummy stir-fries. The owner and his wife are really nice, friendly people. Highly recommend this place :)

Nagoya is our family's "go to" restaurant for fresh sushi, delicious tempura, tonkatsu, and udon. They have the regular line up of sushi plus many innovative role combinations. Don't like one of the ingredients in something- they will gladly make it to your liking. Great value, friendly service and always fresh.
